Loyal Dog Stabbed Six Times For Trying To Protect His Owner This story proves that the old saying is true- dogs are man’s best friend.  According to the Facebook page of the Soweto Animal Rescue and Advisory Center, a family’s  loyal dog  was stabbed six times as he placed his own life at risk trying to protect his owners from their own son.  At the family’s home in Kibler Park, Johannesburg, the dog heard a loud noise and ran to the family’s aid.  “It’s alleged that the son wanted to stab his parents with a knife and the dog heard the screams and came to their aid, and as a result, sustained six stab wounds,” the  Soweto Animal Rescue  wrote on their  Facebook .  The dog has since been rescued and is receiving treatment at Kibler Park Veterinarian hospital.  An order of protection has been granted to the parents against their son, and authorities are still searching for the suspect.  Animal advocates and rescuers have praised this dog for his bravery

National trail publisher, Bwala still in detention despite court order Despite a High Court judgment in Maiduguri ordering the release of Mr Inuwa Bwala, Publisher of the National Trail Newspaper from detention, the police has remained unmoved, DAILY POST reports. BREAKING: Rivers state commissioner of police is dead Mr Odesanya was said to have died this morning Tuesday, January 31 Rivers state commissioner of police Francis Bolaji Odesanya died outside Nigeria's shores. The Rivers State Police Commissioner, Mr. Francis Bolaji Odesanya has died in an Indian hospital after an assumed kidney failure. He was the 37th Rivers State Commissioner of Police, having succeeded Mr. Foluso Adebanjo on July 12, 2016. Odesanya joined the force on February 2, 1986, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks to his current position of Commissioner of Police.

Investigation conducted by LEADERSHIP reveals that on December 18th,2016, the deceased in company of her friend, Elizabeth had gone to one Alhaji Usman I. Adamu, who is believed to be a philanthropist, because he assists indigent students, with scholarship to complete their studies. According to the mother of the deceased, Mrs.Philomina Odama, “when it was my daughter’s turn to see Alhaji Adamu, she told him that she had come to seek for an assistance to continue with her education. But the ‘philanthropist’ told her to come along with her mother to the house. My daughter told me this and I decided to go there with her, since the quarters where the Alhaji lives were in the same neighborhood where we reside.

Bank robbery: Robbers kill police sergeant, cart away millions of naira A  Police Sergeant was shot dead yesterday 30th January when gunmen attacked a customer at a new generation bank along Aba Road,Port Harcourt Rivers State while a nother person suspected to be the owner of the snatched money was feared killed  following heavy shootout at the bank. An eyewitness    said the gunmen who drove into the bank    premises in a Tayota Corolla car had laid ambush for a customer who had gone to the bank to withdraw money,h e said as soon as the customer emerged from the bank, after making his withdrawals,the gunmen pounced on him opening fire on the vehicle. The eyewitness stated that a bag containing cash was snatched and taken away by the armed robbers. He said: “I was standing at the bus stop waiting for a taxi to Bori camp when I heard a gun shot and at that point everybody started running so I had to run towards Rumukwurushi end  because the gun shot was very severe.“When
