SUSPENDED SGF MAY BE FOUND GUILTY AS SENATE RELEASES BOMBSHELL ON HIS NUMEROUS SHADY DEALS

The Nigerian Senate Committee report, on Wednesday, has revealed how the suspended SGF, Babachir Lawal, racked in billions of Naira through shady deals, in the Presidential Initiative for the North-East, PINE. The Committee report revealed that after receiving payments from PINE, at least five companies separately paid about N450 million to the Eco Bank account (182001809) of Rholavision Engineering Limited, owned by Mr. Lawal, according to CAC and self-admission, as well as his private account (0003004417) with Diamond Bank, bank statements showed. According to a Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, confirmation attached to the report, Lawal was still the signatory to the account of Rholavision, until February 15, 2017, which shares the same Bank Verification Number with his personal account, and 13 other accounts in commercial banks. The former Minister of Aviation and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Femi Fani-Kayode, has announced the end of the road for President Muhamamdu Buhari. MAN RAPES CHILD IN FRONT OF MONARCHS PALACE

A man has raped a nine-year-old girl in front of monarch’s palace in the Badagry area of Lagos. The man, Adebayo Isaiah, 47,  was said to have raped the girl while she was on her way home. The incident sparked wild protests in the area as residents blamed the security personnel on duty for overlooking the crime. PM Express reports that the victim was allegedly seized by Isaiah opposite the Baale of Mowo’s Palace before he forcefully penetrated her. The girl, who was bleeding after the incident, had reported the matter to her parents who informed the police. Isaiah has since been arrested and arraigned before the Badagry Magistrates Court. He was later transferred to Court Four Apapa where he pleaded not guilty. He was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison pending when he perfects his bail conditions and the matter adjourned till 26 June.

ANAL SEX WITH KIDS LANDS MAN IN JAIL

A man, Balarabe Yusuf, also known as Dogo Direba, has been sent to Katsina prison for allegedly having anal sex with two nine-year-old boys. Yusuf, 35, was said to have lured the boys, Abdullahi Nasiru and Abubakar Ibrahim,  into an uncompleted building at different times and had sex with them. The boys were taken to the General Hospital after sustaining various degrees of injuries to their anuses. Yusuf was arraigned before Fadile Dikko of the Katsina Senior Magistrates Court where he was sent to prison until 6 June, when his case would be heard. She also said that his fate would be decided by the high court after police investigation and on the strength of legal advice from the state Ministry of Justice.

FIVE MEN ALLEGEDLY GANG-RAPE LADY PUBLICLY

Five men have gang raped a 21-year-old woman on her way to work. The incident occurred around 5.30am at Irawo area of Owode Onirin, Ikorodu, Lagos. She was seized on her way to the bus terminal and taken to a corner where the men took turns in raping her. PM Express reports that she reported the matter to her parents who notified the police. The police have arrested one of the suspects, 21-year-old Mathew Odunayo. He has been arraigned before an Ogba Magistrates Court for sexual assault and unlawful penetration. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The presiding magistrate, JA Abegun, adjourned the case till 19 May.

MAN KILLS MOTORCYCLIST TO ROB HIM OF CYCLE

         A man has killed a commercial motorcyclist, Maniru Yusufu, in the Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State and robbed him of his motorcycle.          Yusufu was said to have taken the man, who is still at large, to Kauyen Bayan Masallata, a village in Niger Republic, bordering the state.          His decomposing body was found around the border three days after his family declared him missing.          Punch reports that the police said they could not do anything about the murder since it happened withing Niger Republic.          The body was later buried with the district head of Illela, village and ward heads in the area in attendance.

TERRORIST LEADER ALLEGEDLY INJURED IN AIRSTRIKE,DEPUTIES KILLED

A report claims Abubakar Shekau, leader of Boko Haram terror group, has been injured by an air strike, which also killed his deputy. French news media, AFP, claimed it learnt of the occurrence from civilian and security sources. The report stated two Nigerian Air Force jets bombarded fighters who were gathered for prayers in Balla village, some 40 kilometres (25 miles) from Damboa, on the edge of the Sambisa Forest, last Friday. “Shekau was wounded in the bombings and is believed to be receiving treatment near the Nigerian border with Cameroon around Kolofata,” said one source with contacts within Boko Haram. “His deputy, Abba Mustapha, alias Malam Abba, was killed in the attack along with another key lieutenant, Abubakar Gashua, alias Abu Aisha,” he added. Moreover, the AFP said the Nigerian military has yet to responded to inquiry on the latest attack.

Two men are behind bars in connection with an armed robbery in April in which one of them was brandishing a handgun, and the other a stun-gun. David DeWayne Quinn and Quiney Haroon Perdue are both charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, said Sgt. Bryan Shelton. The robbery happened one week ago - on April 25 - in the 1800 block of Goree Place in southwest Birmingham.  Robbery Sgt. Patrick Crosby said the suspects used Craigslist as if they were selling a vehicle, and the victims were responding to buy that vehicle when they were robbed. The suspects, police said, were both wearing masks and tried to shatter the driver's side window of the victim's vehicle. One of the victims, who has not been publicly identified, retrieved his own gun and fired one round, hitting Perdue in the arm. Heavily armed policemen on Tuesday in Dutse, Jigawa State capital, fired teargas canisters at a crowd that gathered at the Chief Magistrate Court Two for the arraignment of former governor Sule Lamido, who is being tried for making inciting remarks. Counsel for the Jigawa State Government, Ikenna Ekpunobi, insisted that Lamido should not be granted bail until investigation was completed. Emphasising that Lamido was charged with disturbing public peace and inciting public disturbance, Ekpunobi argued that the allegations were contrary to the provisions of the Criminal Code of Jigawa State. However, Lamido’s counsel, Felix Osimerah, quoting Section 36, sub-section 5 of the 1999 Constitution, argued that Lamido should be presumed innocent even as he stressed that the offences were bailable. A gay man is suing a funeral home in Mississippi, alleging that it refused to cremate his husband because it did not "deal with their kind." John "Jack" Zawadski, 82, and his nephew filed a lawsuit against the Picayune Funeral Home's owners seeking damages for breach of contract and emotional distress. The lawsuit accuses them of backing out of a verbal agreement to provide final services for Zawadski's husband, Robert Huskey, in May 2016 after discovering he was gay. The reversal compounded the family's grief and left them scrambling for alternatives. A National Youth Service Corps member serving in Kogi State has been arrested for allegedly breaking into an Automated Teller Machine of a new generation bank, with the intention to steal. The man identified as Aka-Jude Tersoo was among the 36 suspects arrested in the last one week in the state. SUSPECTED KILLER OF IKORODU FAMILY ARRESTED WITHIN SAME COMMUNITY

Policemen from the Ipakodo division have arrested a suspected killer of a family of three in Ibeshe Titun, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. It was learnt that the suspect, whose identity had yet to be ascertained, was arrested on Tuesday in the community. A resident, who asked not to be identified, said the suspect had been taken into custody and was being interrogated by the police. He said, “The man was arrested this morning (Tuesday) and he confessed to being a member of the gang that attacked and killed members of the family. He was beaten to a pulp by an angry mob as he also mentioned the names of their sponsors.
