In this photograph provided by the Israeli Defense Forces, a Patriot missile is fired from a desert launch site in southern Israel on April 12, 2005. The launch took place during the annual joint Israeli army and United States Juniper Cobra air defense military exercise.   The Israeli military, using a U.S.-made Patriot Missile, downed an Iranian-built drone as it attempted to cross into Israeli airspace on Tuesday.   The army confirmed the drone was shot down after it breached the line that marks the start of the demilitarized zone on the border between Israel and Syria in the Golan Heights, just outside of Israeli airspace.   The  Israeli Defense Force s (IDF) said in a statement that it would "not allow any infiltration or approach toward the Golan Heights area by terrorist figures from Iranian forces, Hezbollah, Shiite militias or Islamic Jihad."   Israel has intervened regularly in Syria to stop the country's six-year civil war from spilling over its borders. North Korea's delegation to the United Nations was in no mood to listen to President Donald Trump.  Spencer Platt/Getty Images   While addressing the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, President Donald Trump threatened to "totally destroy" North Korea. But there were notable absentees: North Korea's U.N. delegation had walked out of the hall prior to the U.S. president's stark warning.   As fate would have it, the U.N.'s seating lottery put North Korea's representatives in the front row for the first time during Trump's address to the General Assembly. Yet they were apparently in no mood to hear Trump's latest comments.   The speech came just two days after Trump, in a tweet, apparently referred to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as "Rocket Man."    I spoke

Japan on Tuesday moved a mobile missile-defense system on the northern island of Hokkaido to a base near recent North Korean missile flyover routes. Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera said a Patriot Advanced Capability-3 interceptor unit was deployed at the Hakodate base on southern Hokkaido "as a precaution" as part of government preparations for a possible emergency. The relocation came after a North Korean missile was test-fired last week and flew over southern Hokkaido and landed in the Pacific off the island's east coast — the second flyover in less than a month. The PAC-3 was brought from another base in Yakumo town on Hokkaido, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) northeast of Hakodate. The system has a range of about 20 kilometers (12 miles). Four more of Japan's 34 PAC-3 units, largely used to defend the capital region, were relocated to southwestern Japan recently after North Korea warned of sending missiles toward the U.S. territory of Guam. Japan currently has a
