Boko Haram leader, Shekau, not dead – Defence Minister  The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, on Tuesday, admitted that the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Shekau, has not been killed contrary to many claims of his death by the government in the past.  He also said it has been difficult arresting the sect leader because the insurgents normally wear masks to conceal their identities and divert attention.  Dan-Ali spoke with State House correspondents shortly after briefing President Muhammadu Buhari of his ministry's activities at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Tuesday paraded a 17-year-old Boko Haram suspect, who admitted killing 18 people since he joined the group three years ago.  The suspect, Ali Mustafa, said he was forced to join the deadly group when Boko Haram terrorists attacked his village in Monguno and left with many boys. The teenager said he gained skill handling assault rifles, with which he executed his victims.  "I was forced to join Boko Haram about three years ago. Boko Haram insurgents came to our village and forcefully took many of us away. We were kept in the bush camp near Kala Balge and from there we carried out various operations, during which I personally killed 18 persons. I can handle all kinds of guns including AK-47 and AA (anti aircraft) rifle." Erstwhile Senate leader, Ali Ndume has stated that he has no ill feelings against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Senator Dino Melaye. He spoke with regards to his call for their investigation for their alleged involvement in various scandals. While responding to questions, when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Public Petitions, Ethics and Privileges in Abuja, he said there was nothing 'ulterior', noting that the Senate was being bashed in the media as a result of the allegations against the duo. Some school children have suffered irreparable harm after a lorry ploughed straight into them on the road. Three children have been killed and two others seriously injured after a lorry ploughed into them near a school, Daily Star UK reports. The youngsters were crossing the road in a big group when the lorry rammed into them in the horrific incident. Emergency services raced to the scene in Guiping city in South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. But one child was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others passed away at hospital after failing to respond to treatment. How Suswam, two others diverted N9.8bn SURE-P, police funds –FG The Federal Government, on Monday, accused a former Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam, and two others of diverting the sum of N9.79bn, part of which was meant for police reform programme and Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme. The SURE-P scheme was set up by the then President Goodluck Jonathan administration following the partial removal of fuel subsidy in 2012. The funds were allegedly diverted between 2012 and 2015 while Suswam was the governor of Benue State. The allegations are contained in the 32 fraud and money laundering charges filed against Suswam and two others on Monday. Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an Anton Piller order, directing the seizure of a film titled "Okafor's Law" directed by Nollywood Producer, Omoni Oboli. The court also issued an interim order, suspending the release and launch of the film, in any movie theatre or cinema house on March 31, pending the determination of a motion on notice before the court. The judge ordered the seizure of all copies, materials, projections or infringing materials, relating to the subject matter. The orders followed an ex parte application filed by a company, Rancoteur Productions Ltd, on behalf of a Canada based script writer, Jude Idada. Idada lays claim to the film "Okafor's Law" as his intellectual property. Meet the suspects who allegedly murdered a JUMIA delivery man over iPhone 7, police recover body A facebook user, Ossai Ovie Success, said the body of the delivery man was found inside a septic tank and the police detectives had to pull the dead body tied from the tank. Indian farmers protest with human skulls and live rats in their mouths, over drought Indian farmers hit by drought and debt displayed the skulls of fellow farmers believed to have committed suicide, and placed live rats in their mouths at a protest on Monday calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to save them from starvation. "These skulls are all that remains of our brothers who killed themselves because they could not repay their debts," said P. Ayyakannu, president of South Indian Rivers Linking Farmers Association, sitting by a row of eight human skulls. The farmers say lack of rains over the last year have led to crop failure, forcing many to take loans from banks and moneylenders to survive. Girl gang raped by five men, contemplates  suicide A 14-year old Ghanaian girl who was defiled by five men at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region, says she has been contemplating suicide for some time now, myjoyonline reports. The traumatised girl dropped out of school at Class 4, after her ordeal, and says she is being haunted by the dastardly incident which has left her with life-threatening complications.  Her revelations come as the Nkawkaw police arrest a third suspect, Awudu Kamiru, an 18-year-old head porter.
