Brighton siege: Melbourne police launch terror probe, investigate if escort was used to lure officers. Police are investigating whether the Brighton siege gunman took an escort worker hostage in a bid to lure officers into a deadly ambush. Gunman Yacqub Khayre injured three officers during a shoot-out that ended in his death at an apartment building in Melbourne's Bayside area on Monday afternoon. The 29-year-old, who has an extensive criminal history and was released on parole in December , had made a booking with the escort worker, taken her hostage and killed a man who was working at the building. Police said it was possible Khayre, from Roxburgh Park in Melbourne's north, may have been attempting to lure police by taking the escort hostage.              The Abia State Police Command have apprehended a pastor who runs an illegal medical centre and Baby Factory in his church – Briefing newsmen on Monday, June 5th, at the State Police Headquarters, Umuahia, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adeleye Oyebade, who paraded the pastor along with other suspects, disclosed that on the 24th of May, information was received that a storey building located at Faulks Road Aba, which doubles as a Church and Medical centre was converted to Baby Factory. Working on this information gathered, a team of Policemen attached to Ariaria Division led by the DPO stormed the premises where five pregnant young girls were rescued and one Christopher Adebanya Tochukwu, the Pastor of the Church and the operator of the clinic who earlier fled the scene was arrested.           The Computer and Allied Product Dealers Association of Nigeria, a trade association of Computer Village market traders, is collaborating with Fonreg Software to develop a web portal, which enable them to track stolen phones. As a result, traders are expected to register on the web portal every buyer who purchases any item from them, especially mobile phones. The CAPDAN said that the need to create the portal became necessary given the rise in the sale of stolen smartphones and fake accessories in the market in the last one year. "In the event that a mobile phone was stolen and returned to the market for sale, the trader could quickly log on to the portal to verify if the phone was stolen.  If verified that it was a stolen phone, the trader would quickly alert the real owner and the police would be invited for necessary prosecution," the CAPDAN President, Mr. Adeniyi Ojikutu, told our correspondent. Embattled Nigerian artiste, Dammy krane, appeared in court today for his bail hearing in the 9-count fraud charges leveled against him in the U.S. He was in court with Chukwuebuka, his accomplice. Chukwuebuka, who is claiming to be Dammy krane's show promoter, filed paperwork saying that he is indigent. According to our source, the court looked at his papers and it was found that he has no money or property in any bank. He was thereby kept in jail till 22nd of June, 2017. On his part, Dammy krane pleaded not guilty and paperwork was provided to his defense attorney, showing what police found on his phone. None of his family members or record label representative was in court today. . Also, the court wants proof that the money to be paid for his bail, is from a honest source.
