Lieutenant, 6 others killed in fresh Boko Haram attack 24th Feb 2017, A lieutenant has been reportedly killed in a fresh attack by Boko Haram terrorists in Gajiram, a town 80 kilometers away from Maiduguri, Borno state capital. Punch reports that the lieutenant was killed alongside six other soldiers during an attack on a military formation in the area. A civilian vigilante Babakura Kolo said a gun battle between the military and the terrorists lasted for about two hours killing three soldiers. Kolo said after the attack, on Friday, February 24, the death toll of soldiers killed rose to seven. “Yesterday, three bodies of soldiers were found but four more bodies were found during a search,” Kolo said. Meanwhile a security source said three terrorists were also killed in the attack while troops of the Nigerian military are carrying out a cordon and search operation to fish out some of the insurgents around the area. (PHOTOS)University Lecturer Caught And Stripped While Trying To Sleep With A Student For Grades. 24th Feb 2017, A lecturer from the Department of English at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Niger State, Hajji Yusuf, was caught and stripped naked after a female student he wanted to sleep with set him up. According to the report, the lecturer had threatened to fail the student if she refuse to sleep with him, so he came around to have sex with her as agreed, not knowing she had planned with her boyfriend to disgrace him.

Close to 24 hours after their abduction, the whereabouts of the kidnapped German archaeologist, Professor Peter Breunij and his research fellow, Johannes Buringer remains unknown. The two german nationals were abducted on Thursday afternoon around Kaduna State-Abuja axis, a security source in Abuja who is closely following the situation has told SaharaReporters. U S AFRICA COMMAND PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR NIGERIA Feb 24th 2017 The United States Africa Command has announced a strong commitment to Nigeria in its battle against insurgency, as well as other countries of the Lake Chad basin.
