Two Fulani herdsmen, Umar and Musa Ali, who are brothers, have been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at Tudun Lambaga in the Eggon Hills area, Eggon Local Government Area of the state. The victim, simply identified as Esther, was reportedly ambushed and assaulted by the suspects at a secluded part of the road. According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Nassarawa, DSP Kennedy Idirisu, Umar and Musa had been apprehended following a complaint by Esther’s parents. Narrating her ordeal in an interview with journalists in Lafia, Esther stated that she was with four others when the incident happened. She said she and the others had earlier ignored the boys when they approached them, but the duo subsequently ambushed them at a lonely and secluded part of the road where they threatened her with a knife and cutlass. A Minna Chief Magistrates’ Court has granted bail to a housewife, Eucharia Mba, who was earlier apprehended by the police for allegedly selling her four-month-old baby for N605,000. Mba was arrested alongside Bright Ahuruezeanya of Chanchaga area of Minna and one Peter Ani. The defendants are facing three counts bordering on criminal conspiracy, buying and selling of a minor. The offence contravened sections 79 and 278 of the Penal Code Law. According to the police First Information Report, one Mr. John of Mechanic Junction in Chanchaga, had sometime in September, 2017 reported to the police that Amaka Bright of the same address with Bright Ahuruezeanya conspired with his wife Eucharia and sold his four-month-old baby boy. It was alleged that Eucharia and the other two accused persons left for Enugu State where they sold the baby to one Mr. Ani for N605,000. The Imo State Police Command, Umeneke Division has arrested an Assemblies of God pastor, Esom Jehovah, for allegedly stabbing a trainee nurse to death. The victim identified as Callista, approached the pastor over a missing phone battery and charger she was given to charge. An eye-witness told Sun that a boy in the compound gave the deceased a phone battery and charger to assist him recharge but Pastor Esom Jehovah’s first daughter stole the items which were later found in her custody five days after. ”The Pastor reacted angrily to the allegation against his daughter and beat up the deceased before his daughter went and picked a kitchen knife and stuck it deep into her back while her father held her down.” It was gathered that the 21-year-old daughter is currently on the run, while the Pastor who almost fled after stabbing the deceased with the knife was arrested by the police. An Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State has dissolved a six-year-old marriage between a herbalist, Fakoya Amos,40, and his photographer wife, Bukola. The herbalist, who resides at UNILAG Estate in Ikorodu, Lagos State petitioned the court in February to dissolve the marriage, over alleged infidelity, trouble-making and child paternity against Bukola. The respondent, Bukola, 30, denied the allegations but admitted that she had an affair with another man, which resulted in pregnancy. She also accused her husband of battery, and begged for reconciliation. The court president, Mrs Funmi Adeola had ruled that a DNA test be performed to confirm the paternity of the child. In her ruling, Adeola ordered Bukola to stop bearing the man’s name and return her child to the owner. She said the DNA test had revealed the true father of the child. A suspected ritual killer, Adebayo Mudashiru, has confessed that he and his colleagues buy human parts, including skulls, eyes and teeth, for N12,000. The suspect was arrested alongside three others in the Abeokuta and Owode Egba areas of the state by men of the Ogun State Police Command. The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, paraded the suspects at the headquarters of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Magbon, Abeokuta over the weekend. Iliyasu said the four suspects specialized in killing for ritual purposes and belonged to two different ritual groups. The mother, who resides in Sarawak state, was “trying to pay off her debts” by forcing her 14-year-old daughter to have sex with a man, the Star Online reported. “The mother forced her 14-year-old daughter to have sex with a man in order to pay off debts,” Police Chief, Dev Kumar, told The Star Online. He added that the girl was raped three times in a hotel. Kumar said the man paid more than 200 dollars to the karaoke bar owner to have sex with the girl, according to the Star.
