  A 27-year-old woman Justina Dusu, on Friday told a Jos High Court that her boyfriend, Stephen Luka, got her pregnant and when confronted, cut her with a cutlass and killed her sister.Dusu, who is heavily pregnant, told the court, in her testimony, that the accused person, with whom she had been in a relationship since 2007, got her pregnant last year. “I met Stephen on Dec. 2 2007, while I was still in secondary school. I later left to Abuja, but came back to Jos in May 2016. “We met on my return and he invited me to his place sometime in June 2016, where he had s*x with me. “I later realised I was pregnant and called his attention to it; he told me he was not ready to be a father and suggested an abortion which I promptly rejected. “I told him I would rather give birth to the baby and give to my parents than have an abortion. Boko Haram kills 7 new army recruits, abducts female soldier in fresh attack Boko Haram insurgents have ambushed a convoy of new army recruits in Maiduguri, killing seven troops and abducting a female soldier in the attack. Washington Post said the attack occurred on Thursday evening,February 9, near Mafa town on the main road 50 kilometers (30 miles) east of Maiduguri in Borno state.The attack has been confirmed by an army officer who spoke under the condition of anonymity. A humanitarian worker also said he heard military radio traffic confirming the attack.However, effort to get confirmation from the military spokesperson was unsuccessful as he did not immediately comment. Boko Haram insurgents have continued to launch isolated attacks on military formations after they were driven out of the Sambisa forest, their last strong hold in December 2016.

A man whose name is yet to be confirmed, has been beheaded in Ekiti state on Wednesday, after a reprisal attack over the shooting of one Seyi Oladipo which occurred last week. Reports say that unknown persons had trailed the victim, who was a farmer from Orisunmibare, to his farm where he was decapitated and his hands were also cut off. During the fight, the Asiwaju of Orisunmibare, Chief Segun Akanbi,was also said to have been inflicted with machete wounds by suspected Ayede youths who accused him of firing the shot that killed Oladipo. Explaining the situation, traditional ruler, (Oba) Adamo Babalola, claimed that the perpetrators of the attack are from Ayede who are now launching sporadic attacks on Orisunmibare in a bid to take over the land. Babalola, who described the victim’s death as unfortunate, has called on the warring people to embrace peace. A 20-year-old boy identified as Sunday, has drowned in a river at Lake View Estate, Amuwo -Odofin area of Lagos, in his attempt to avoid being forcefully initiated into Icelander Confraternity, by some youths. The group was also accused of dragging youths to the riverside where they are forcefully initiated. It was learned that anyone that refuses to be initiated will be given ultimatum by the group to either leave the estate or risk losing his life.The initiation process: Such was the fate of late Sunday. The deceased, a labourer, was alleged to have been dragged to the waterside last Monday, alongside one of his friends identified as Alabi, by one Tunde, popularly known as T-money. Tony Okonkwoh,a Nigerian has been arrested in India after drugs in capsules alleged to be cocaine were found on him.The Delhi zonal unit of Narcotics Control Bureau intercepted Tony after he had swallowed 90 capsules of cocaine, weighing around 1.3 kg. He was intercepted on the 6th of February by a team of NCB operatives during passenger profiling. He arrived at the Indhira Gandhi International Airport that morning. During the course of interrogation, the man feigned ignorance about the presence of drugs and told the team that he visited India for business purposes. Tragedy as Mechanic in Lagos Kills Sales Boy in Broad Daylight 10/02/2017 The police in Lagos State have launched a manhunt for a mechanic, Fatai Bashiru, for allegedly killing a sales boy, Shedrach Emenike, aka Chiboy, in the Papa Ajao, Mushin area of the state. Punch Metro learnt that Bashiru stabbed the 23-year-old in the armpit and other parts of his body for allegedly scratching a car belonging to his customer. The victim was rushed to a general hospital where he was confirmed dead. It was learnt that the suspect fled after learning of Emenike’s death and his whereabouts had yet to be known. Beware!Fraudsters Now Selling Fake JAMB Forms Nationwide Feb 9, 2017 The Computer-Based Test Centers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (CPAN) has warned of the existence of illegal centres currently selling fake 2017 registration forms for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, (JAMB) in Imo State and other parts of Nigeria. This disclosure was made by the Chairman of the association, Comrade Chidiebere Egboh, in Owerri, the state capital,on Monday. According to him, the fraudsters were also collecting money to place candidates in, “special centres” to cheat during the examination. He described the development as dangerous and alerted prospective candidates that JAMB was yet to announce the fees and date for the commencement of registration.
