"TRUMP AN UTTERLY UNTRUTHFUL PRESIDENT AND NO ROLE MODEL" SENATOR BOB CORKER

Image
If President Trump's relationship with his former ally Senator Bob Corker was frayed before, it now appears to be ruptured completely. The two Republicans reignited their feud on Tuesday after the president did not take kindly to Corker's criticism of his leadership and his suggestion that Trump "stay out" of congressional negotiations over a tax bill. In a trio of television interviews, the increasingly outspoken Tennessee senator repeated his dim assessment of Trump's performance and went further than he—or any elected Republican—has gone in questioning the president's fitness for office. Calling Trump "an utterly untruthful president," Corker said he was not a role model for the nation's children and declared unequivocally that he would not support him for reelection in 2020. "He's obviously not going to rise to the occasion as president," Corker said on CNN. He accused Trump of "constant non-truth telling" and said he

Uti, 55, was arraigned before Magistrate Bola Folarin-Williams on a two-count of murder and disrespect of corpse. After going through the case file, Magistrate Folarin-Williams said she did not see anything both in the accused's statement and in the police investigations to show that the accused killed his wife and quashed the remand application brought by the police. She, therefore, admitted the accused to a bail of N500,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum, who must be blood relations and also work with reputable organisations. She directed that the case file should be duplicated and a copy forwarded to the State Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice. Earlier, Sgt. LIL WAYNE THREATENS TO SHUT DOWN YOUNG MONEY

Image
It would appear as though Lil Wayne has come to the end of his rope in the long-waged legal battle between himself and former mentor Birdman . According to new reports, the hip-hop heavyweight is threatening to dissolve Young Money under the pretense that it must be handled properly or will ultimately be shut down. As reported by The Blast , Weezy recently filed legal documents demanding that the operations of the joint venture, under the Cash Money moniker, must be overseen by an advisor to supervise its operations or appointed a liquidator upon termination. Birdman has allegedly contested the request citing that Wayne has no legal holding to shut down the company considering he's still under contract. Back in 2003, Young Money was launched as a joint label under Cash Money Records with Wayne grooming its rising talent like Drake and Nicki Minaj . Since then, the "A Milli" rapper has gone on to file a lofty lawsuit against co-founder Birdman including $51 million for unp

TRIAL BEGINS FOR THE MAN WHO MURDERED 'GENDER FLUID' TEEN KEDARIE JOHNSON AFTER THREESOME

As the trial begins for an Iowa man who is accused of killing a gender-fluid teen after inviting them over for a threesome, prosecutors are prepared to focus on LGBT hate as a motive. Kedarie Johnson, also known as "Kandicee," identified as both male and female. The 16-year-old student from Burlington, Iowa, was killed in March 2016 after meeting 23-year-old Jorge Sanders-Galvez. According to the Independent , Sanders-Galvez saw Johnson exit and a store and persuaded them to get in his car. Johnson was then brought to Sanders-Galvez's home to have sex with him and his cousin, 25-year-old Jaron Purham. When Sanders-Galvez discovered Johnson was biologically male, he became furious and violently suffocated the teen before shooting him. Purham and Jorge Sanders-Galvez were both charged with first-degree murder in Johnson's death, according to The Des Moines Register. In Jan. 2017, Attorney General Jeff Sessions deployed a federal hate crimes attorney to Iowa to assist in

5 TIPS FOR DISCIPLINE AND DISRUPTION IN JUNIOR HIGH MINISTRY

Image
The  constant murmurs and giggles. The iPods and texting. The never-ending tangents during small group discussion. The rubber band that gets shot into your face or the student that actually loudly answers their cell phone while you're in the middle of teaching (both really happened to me). How you handle disruption and discipline with junior highers will communicate a lot about how you love them . The typical unhealthy responses are: a)  over-discipline  (domineering and strict) or b)  under-discipline  (indulgent and permissive). To find a healthy balance between being fun and authoritative requires intentionality. Here are five ideas for how to develop this balanced paradigm of discipline. (Note: These are particular for early adolescent ministry; I'm not sure how these would fit with children or high school students.) Create clear and realistic  boundaries . Even though they wouldn't articulate it this way, junior highers appreciate and need clear boundaries. (Partly so

HORROR ; ISIS MASS EXECUTED 116 PEOPLE IN SYRIAN CHRISTIAN TOWN BEFORE ARMY CLOSED IN

Image
Evidence has emerged of another Islamic State militant group (ISIS) mass execution, this time in the Syrian Christian desert town of Al-Qaryatain.   The militant group killed at least 116 civilians in executions committed in the days before the Syrian regime recaptured the town, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a U.K.-based monitoring group with an extensive network of contacts in Syria.   "ISIS has over a period of 20 days executed at least 116 civilians in reprisal killings, accusing them of collaboration with regime forces," SOHR chief Rami Abdelrahman told the Agence France-Presse news agency.   ISIS regained control of the town three weeks ago, and then the killings began. Syrian regime forces, backed by Russian air power, arrived and liberated the town on October 21 after dozens of ISIS fighters retreated, at which point the remains of the victims of the mass execution were found.   "After the regime retook it, the town's residents

AMERICAN SOLDIER,SGT BOWE BERGDAHL'S JOURNEY FROM VICTIM TO CRIMINAL,FACES LIFE SENTENCE

Image
FORT BRAGG, N.C. — At his first major court hearing two years ago, it seemed that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl had caught a break: the Pentagon's hostage debriefer, Terrence Russell, testified that the sergeant had "done the best job he could do" during the five years he was held by the Taliban, resisting his captors and attempting escape despite suffering the worst prisoner-of-war abuse since Vietnam. The military's own investigator rejected widespread claims that soldiers had died while searching for the sergeant, and recommended against punishing him with any jail time. But Sergeant Bergdahl is now facing up to life in prison. A week ago, he appeared here at Fort Bragg and essentially capitulated, pleading guilty to all charges. On Monday, he returned to the courtroom in a final attempt to have the case dismissed. His sentencing hearing is set to begin on Wednesday. How did his legal fortunes turn so drastically? Many things have been at play. The sergeant's own statemen

JAPAN ; SHINZO ABE CRUISES TO REELECTION IN LANDSLIDE VICTORY

Image
Drew Angerer/Getty Images Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe won reelection by a landslide in a snap election this weekend, and his ruling Liberal Democratic Party also claimed a supermajority in parliament. [ NYT / Motoko Rich ]  Abe is entering his third term, and will become Japan's longest-serving prime minister if he finishes it. [ CNN / Yoko Wakatsuki, James Griffiths, and Joshua Berlinger ]  He actually isn't all that popular in Japan, having been dogged by corruption scandals that tanked his approval ratings this summer. [ The Guardian / Justin McCurry ]  But his tenure has been marked by strong economic growth. Already, markets have spiked in response to the news that the country will have stable leadership. [ The Diplomat / Anthony Fensom ]  There's also not a lot of appetite for a new leader in the face of provocations from North Korea, which Abe has promised to meet with increased pressure after Kim Jong Un's regime launched two missiles over Japan. US ARMY CHIEF GIVES NEW TIMELINE IN DEADLY NIGER SHOOTING

Image
The US troops attacked in Niger were on their way back to their operating base when they were ambushed by 50 ISIS fighters, according to Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford, who provided a timeline of the attack on Monday. Four US and five Nigerien soldiers were killed and two Americans were wounded in the attack that occurred on October 4, but details of what happened remain murky more than two weeks after the incident as investigators work to determine precisely what happened, a US official has told CNN. During the Pentagon briefing Monday, Dunford clarified that the US troops requested additional support about an hour after the firefight began. Remotely piloted aircraft arrived overhead within minutes of the request for help. French Mirage jets arrived on the scene approximately one hour later — two hours after the troops made initial contact with enemy forces. "It's important to note when they didn't ask for support for that first hour, my judgment would be that
