TRIAL BEGINS FOR THE MAN WHO MURDERED 'GENDER FLUID' TEEN KEDARIE JOHNSON AFTER THREESOME

As the trial begins for an Iowa man who is accused of killing a gender-fluid teen after inviting them over for a threesome, prosecutors are prepared to focus on LGBT hate as a motive.

Kedarie Johnson, also known as "Kandicee," identified as both male and female. The 16-year-old student from Burlington, Iowa, was killed in March 2016 after meeting 23-year-old Jorge Sanders-Galvez.

According to the Independent , Sanders-Galvez saw Johnson exit and a store and persuaded them to get in his car. Johnson was then brought to Sanders-Galvez's home to have sex with him and his cousin, 25-year-old Jaron Purham.
When Sanders-Galvez discovered Johnson was biologically male, he became furious and violently suffocated the teen before shooting him.

Purham and Jorge Sanders-Galvez were both charged with first-degree murder in Johnson's death, according to The Des Moines Register.

In Jan. 2017, Attorney General Jeff Sessions deployed a federal hate crimes attorney to Iowa to assist in the prosecution of Sanders-Galvez.
Christopher Perras, an attorney for the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, detailed the terrible murder.

Sanders-Galvez "suffocated Kedarie by stuffing a rag down his throat and wrapping a plastic bag around his head, threw him in their car, drove to another part of town, dumped him in an alley and shot him several times until he bled to death," Perras wrote in a court document.

An autopsy found Johnson died from gunshots to the chest.

A federal grand jury has been convened to consider whether the men should face hate crime charges, but no decision has been announced.

Fighting over land use between semi-nomadic cattle herders and more settled communities, claims hundreds of lives yearly in the middle belt and in northern Nigeria. Last year, the government said preventing attacks was a security priority. Bala Elkana, a spokesman for Niger state police, said the attack happened at about 05:00 a.m. (0400 GMT) on Saturday at Epogi community, in the Mokwa area of the state. “It was a clash between farmers and herders which had been initially handled but some herders felt unsatisfied and … they launched a reprisal attack on some villagers praying in a mosque,” Elkana said. A man’s leg was ‘nearly severed’ during a machete attack in north Manchester. The victim also suffered serious head injuries when he was slashed with the weapon at an address on Kingscliffe Street, Harpurhey , on Thursday afternoon. Months after an initial interception, another container filled with arms has been discovered at the Tin Can Island Port in Lagos, the Nigeria Customs has declared on Tuesday. A source at the port said the container was found at the Ports and Cargo Terminal of the Tin Can Island Ports. “As I speak to you, they’ve ordered everyone to go out of the terminal and they have locked up everywhere,” the source said. The spokesperson of the Nigeria Customs, Tin Can Island Command, Uche Ejesieme, confirmed the incident and said details would be made public later. “We are still counting,” Mr. Ejesieme told Premium Times over the phone.
