A group of rowdy youth on Tuesday October 17, attacked an IEBC polling clerks training session in Kisumu county at Awasi claiming the training was illegal.
The team of 399 hired clerks had attended the training to conduct the forthcoming election on Octobrer 26, after the supreme court nullified the presidential election held on August 8.
The trainees were relocated to a safer venue after police intervened and forced to guard another training session at the Ahero Multipurpose hall after another group of youths tried to interrupt the trainings.
Otieno Ongeta, the ward representative, however praised the acts saying that they will not let IEBC work in the region as there will be no repeat presidential election in Kisumu and other NASA strongholds retarieting NASA's call on reforms no elections
"I thank my people for standing with the position of the coalition (Nasa)," he said.
This comes after a series of anti-IEBC demonstrations by NASA supporters across the country following failures by the electoral body to meet the party's demands before conducting the election.
NASA has been vocal on boycotting the election come October 26, demanding that their irreducible minimals have to be met before the electoral body conducts a fresh election.
