EVANS WANTS TO DIE,SAYS HUMILIATION IS TOO MUCH AND HOPE GOVERNMENT TAKES CARE OF HIS FAMILY

Image
Notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, aka, Evans, who was arrested last Saturday at his Magodo Estate mansion, Lagos, has, amidst tears, cried out that he is being humiliated beyond limits, noting that he preferred dying than to continue living in pains. The 36-year-old suspect, who is a native of Akamili in Umudim Quarters, Nnewi, Anambra State, said he knew the Police would not treat him fairly when he was caught, given the kind of atrocities he had committed over the years. It was based on this assumption that he told Vanguard newspapers that he made up his mind to end his life the moment the Police gained access to his house. He stated that the Police officer, who pursued him as he ran into his house when he sighted them at his gate, prevented him from completing his mission. Regretting that he was not able to end his life that moment, he looked at this reporter and asked: "What am I living for? When I saw the policemen dash towards me I ran inside. I was not runn

SA COMMUNITIES GIVE NIGERIANS QUIT NOTICE

The Nigerian Union in South Africa says Nigerians living in two South African communities have been ordered by those communities to leave their land. This was made known by Ikechukwu Anyene, the President of the Union. Ayene said the Kuruman community in Northern Cape Province gave Nigerians until Thursday  to leave the place while the Klaafontein community, Extension 5, Johannesburg, took a more subtle approach and directed landlords not to renew the rent of Nigerians in the area. He said the South African's grouse with Nigerians is that they believe they are responsible for some social vices like illicit drug trade and prostitution. Anyene further said a Ugandan man raped a girl in Kwazulu Natal Province but was described in the media as a Nigerian. DAILY DEVOTION FOR TODAY 17th JUNE 2017

Image
The Wasted Years   A daily devotion for June 17th   From your friends at  RayStedman.org     Read: Genesis 19:1-11       The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city (Genesis 19:1a).       The expression at the beginning of this account,  sitting in the gateway of the city, is an Eastern expression that needs to be understood. This does not mean Lot was simply passing the time of day in the gate. This is a technical phrase that means he was the chief magistrate of the city of Sodom. His job was not only to give an official welcome to visitors of the city but also to investigate the nature of any strangers who might come and also to administer justice concerning any quarrels. The nearest equivalent we have today would be the office of mayor. I want to be fair with Lot; I believe he meant to do the right thing. It is clear from the story of his life that though he wanted to get something out of Sodom, he also expected to put something i

FIRST GAY PRIME MINISTER FOR SERBIA

Image
The president of Serbia has nominated a gay woman to be his prime minister in a double first for the deeply conservative Balkan state. Ana Brnabic was chosen by the new President, Aleksandar Vucic. Her approval by parliament will be largely a formality, as his party and its allies hold an overwhelming majority. Just a few years ago, the appointment would have been unthinkable. But EU hopeful Serbia can present it as proof of increasing tolerance. Ms Brnabic is not only Serbia's first openly gay PM, but also the first woman in that post. "I believe that Brnabic has professional and personal qualities to be prime minister," Mr Vucic told reporters. He made no mention of her sexuality. Is this evidence of a profound change in attitudes to homosexuality? The symbolism of the appointment is real, but it comes against a backdrop of ingrained and sustained antipathy towards homosexuality. It may be more of a harbinger of change than evidence that change has already occurred. Pol
