The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has moved into the national secretariat of the party, nine months after it was sealed by the Police in May 2016.Senator Sheriff said the reopening of the party’s secretariat would enable him and the National Working Committee to work towards returning the party to its status in 1999.

He also assured PDP faithful that none of them would be victimised, noting that his goal was to reunite the party and make it stronger once more.
Sheriff had earlier told journalists in Abuja that he had perfected all legal documents required for the reopening of the secretariat.

He added that the PDP convention committee was working towards conducting a national convention that would elect principal officers soon.
The former Borno State Governor was reinstated as the PDP National Chairman on February 17, after a long leadership tussle that shook the party.

A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt ruled that the caretaker committee headed by Senator Ahmed Makarfi was illegal and cannot act on behalf of the party.
Justice Sanga said that due process was not followed in the decision by the PDP convention to dissolve the Ali Modu Sheriff-led chairmanship and hence, should be disregarded.

FORMER BBC STUDIO CORDONED OFF AFTER MAN'S BODY WAS DISCOVERED

A man’s body has been discovered on the former BBC studios site in Manchester city centre. The body was found this morning at the building site on Oxford Road, which is currently being transformed into student flats. Greater Manchester Police have been called to the scene and the area has been taped off. Forensics officers have also been seen combing the area. Police are working to establish the circumstances behind the man’s death. The victim is believed to have been discovered by building site staff on Monday morning. It is thought he gained access to the building site over the weekend. A prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C & S) Church in Lagos, Mr. Alimi Isaiah, 55, has been arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly being in possession of human skull and a horn. Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has backed out of his planned talks with the South-East Governors Forum » . The IPOB leader had met with the governors at the Enugu State Government House on August 30, 2017 said his decision was informed by the prevailing situation in the South East. Christian Nwosu An ex - Administrative Secretary with the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Christian Nwosu , on Thursday alleged that he was cajoled into confessing to taking a bribe of N 30m to compromise the 2015 general elections. Nwosu , who is being prosecuted before the Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged bribery , claimed that the three confessional statements he made to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on December 28, 2016 and March 15 and 22, 2017 were not done voluntarily . 300 LEVEL VARSITY STUDENT SODOMIZES 10 YEAR OLD GIRL TO DEATH

A 300 Level student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana has reportedly raped a ten-year-old girl to death. The student was said to have anally raped the girl for over three years, damaging her anus and feeding her with a cocktail of painkillers which caused her kidneys to fail, killing her. Reports from Ghanaian online news media said the young man was arrested on Tuesday after the girl was taken to the hospital following her complaints of pains in her anus. Medical tests at the hospital showed she had been sodomised, and revealed damages to her intestines and kidney. The young man is reported to have given the 10-year-old girl eight tablets of paracetamol to kill the pains anytime he has sexual intercourse with her through the anus. He is also reported to have warned the girl not to reveal his sexual encounters with her to anyone or else she will die.
