WHEREABOUT OF KIDNAPPED GERMANS STILL UNKNOWN

Close to 24 hours after their abduction, the whereabouts of the kidnapped German archaeologist, Professor Peter Breunij and his research fellow, Johannes Buringer remains unknown. The two german nationals were abducted on Thursday afternoon around Kaduna State-Abuja axis, a security source in Abuja who is closely following the situation has told SaharaReporters.


Prof. Breunij is an authority on Nok culture and other issues associated with the ancient culture of Southern Kaduna.

According to the source, no contact has been established with the kidnappers of the two foreigners.

“As we speak, there is no communication, and there is also no any trace to where they are being held. And no one has asked for ransom or even communicated.

“But we have not lost hope, and we are putting in our best to track them as soon as possible.

“We are in touch with German Embassy here in Abuja, and the Nigerian commission the professor is  partnering with Nok Culture project here in Abuja.”

MAN IN CUSTODY FOR ASSAULT ON PREGNANT WOMAN February 22, 2017; An Osun Magistrate Court sitting in Ile-Ife has docked one Dayo Adebayo, 29, for alleged assault on a pregnant woman.   The prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on February 13, around 11:45 pm at Ehindi Street, Ile-Ife.Osanyintuyi, said Adebayo assaulted the woman named Blessing Monday, by hitting her with his fist across her face, causing various injuries.He added that the offence was contrary to and punishable under section 356 of the Criminal Code (Cap 34 Vol 11), Laws of Osun, 2002. CINCINNATI –  Police say an Ohio man and his girlfriend restrained, gagged and taped his 4-year-old twin boys to a wall. WLWT-TV reports James Howell Jr. and his girlfriend, Jamie Carver, have been charged with two counts of kidnapping and child endangering. Both were released on bond after a hearing Tuesday. Howell's children have been placed with a foster family by Hamilton County Job and Family Services. Police responded to a Cincinnati apartment Sunday afternoon. Investigators say Howell and Carver had bound the children with a belt and shoelaces. Police say the boys had also been gagged with socks and stuck to a wall with duct tape in the apartment. A man was arrested Monday after police say he vandalized the Lincoln Memorial . A U. S. Park Police officer observed the man about 1 p. m . using a penny to scrawl the letters "HYPT MAEK" on the fifth pillar on the north side of the memorial , authorities said. The man , identified as 21 - year - old Nurtilek Bakirov , of Kyrgyzstan, was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property. Sgt .
