EFCC INVESTIGATING 7 GOVERNORS OVER PARIS CLUB REFUND DIVERSION

Seven Governors are reportedly under the searchlight of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The Governors allegedly diverted funds from the London-Paris Club refunds, The Nation reports.
A source who spoke on the issue revealed that N19B and an unspecified amount were recovered from two accounts reportedly opened by the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).
"The detectives have uncovered the two accounts opened in the name of the NGF and the signatories to same.
"We are looking into circumstances behind such huge deposits from London-Paris Club refunds into these accounts.
"The payment of 2% of the refunds to consultants and 3% to some governors which was rated as "curious" by investigators have been confirmed. We also discovered that some of the governors nominated these consultants," the source added.

Also, investigations revealed that a huge amount of money was also given to a highly placed principal officer of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, (SERAP) has called on the Federal Government to take state Governors who allegedly mismanaged the Paris Club loan refunds to court.

Six dead, tens injured in DEADLY highway crash  has claimed six -The accident involved a saloon car and a bus -Five of the deceased were from the saloon car Six people lost their lives early on Sunday morning after deadly accident involving a saloon car and a bus along the Londiani-Muhoroni-Kisumu Highway . The meeting of the Federal Executive Council that holds every Wednesday did not hold yesterday. Yesterday would have afforded President Muhammadu Buhari who returned to the country on Saturday the opportunity of presiding over the council meeting for the first time in over three months. Jamie Harron, 27, has been sentenced to three months in jail in Dubai for touching a man's hip as he carried a drink through a crowded bar. He was arrested for public indecency at the Rock Bottom bar on 15 July. The electrician, from Stirling, claimed he was simply trying to avoid spilling his drink when he touched the man. It was thought the case against Harron might have been dropped after reports that the businessman he touched had withdrawn his complaint. FORMER SHELTON MANAGER ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING EMPLOYEES

The former manager of a Shelton restaurant is accused of sexually harassing employees and touching them inappropriately. Police started the investigation in March 2016 when three female employees of Dee's Kitchen at 509 Howe Ave. in Shelton went to police to report that 58-year-old Bryan Stockbridge, of Ansonia, was sexually harassing them and had touched them inappropriately on several occasions. Detectives quickly obtained an arrest warrant, but they could not apprehend him, police said. They then obtained information that Stockbridge fled to California after an interview with detectives. Shelton police obtained information today that Stockbridge was back in Connecticut, living in Ansonia, and they took him into custody. Stockbridge has been charged with three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. He posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court tomorrow.

Some school children have suffered irreparable harm after a lorry ploughed straight into them on the road. Three children have been killed and two others seriously injured after a lorry ploughed into them near a school, Daily Star UK reports.
