BREAKING: Makarfi faction orders Sheriff out of PDP secretariat

Senator Ahmed Makarfi, head of the sacked National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded that the factional national chairman of the party Senator Ali Modu Sheriff vacate the party’s national secretariat in Abuja immediately to avoid chaos.

The Punch reports that Makarfi said Sheriff, despite being declared the authentic national chairman of the PDP by the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, Rivers state on February 17, must wait until the Supreme Court makes its own pronouncement on the case.

Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the spokesperson for the faction, stated this at a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, February 27 while accusing the police of favouring the former governor of Borno State in the crisis.
Adeyeye said that the Makarfi-faction want Sheriff out of the secretariat in order to avoid breakdown of law and order.
Factional national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has asked the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, Rivers state to jail factional leader Senator Ahmed Makarfi, and some of his loyalists.

The Punch reports that apart from Makarfi, Sheriff wants the trio of sacked factional national caretaker committee secretary Senator Ben Obi and publicity secretary Dayo Adeyeye as well as former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode jailed.

The meeting of the Federal Executive Council that holds every Wednesday did not hold yesterday. Yesterday would have afforded President Muhammadu Buhari who returned to the country on Saturday the opportunity of presiding over the council meeting for the first time in over three months. Jamie Harron, 27, has been sentenced to three months in jail in Dubai for touching a man's hip as he carried a drink through a crowded bar. He was arrested for public indecency at the Rock Bottom bar on 15 July. The electrician, from Stirling, claimed he was simply trying to avoid spilling his drink when he touched the man. It was thought the case against Harron might have been dropped after reports that the businessman he touched had withdrawn his complaint. FORMER SHELTON MANAGER ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING EMPLOYEES

The former manager of a Shelton restaurant is accused of sexually harassing employees and touching them inappropriately. Police started the investigation in March 2016 when three female employees of Dee's Kitchen at 509 Howe Ave. in Shelton went to police to report that 58-year-old Bryan Stockbridge, of Ansonia, was sexually harassing them and had touched them inappropriately on several occasions. Detectives quickly obtained an arrest warrant, but they could not apprehend him, police said. They then obtained information that Stockbridge fled to California after an interview with detectives. Shelton police obtained information today that Stockbridge was back in Connecticut, living in Ansonia, and they took him into custody. Stockbridge has been charged with three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. He posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court tomorrow.

Some school children have suffered irreparable harm after a lorry ploughed straight into them on the road. Three children have been killed and two others seriously injured after a lorry ploughed into them near a school, Daily Star UK reports.
