RETALIATION;SOLDIERS TORTURE COMMUNITY RESIDENTS WHERE SOLDIER WAS KILLED

Soldiers have allegedly invaded a community in Ghana and dealt mercilessly with the people after they lynched a soldier to death,mistaken him for a robber.

The Assembly Member alleged to have incited Monday's murder of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama in Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region has been arrested.

Also, soldiers have allegedly beat the hell out of some of the resident alleged to have participated in the lynching of the soldier.

William Baah turned himself in to the Diaso police at exactly 3:30pm, the police have confirmed.

He is currently being transported to the Regional Police Headquarters in Cape Coast to assist with investigations.

Late Captain Maxwell Mahama was a military officer with the 5th Infantry Batallion (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra but on detachment duties at the Denkyira Boase of the Central region.

Captain Mahama who is the commander of the area military detachment according to his subordinates, was seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to ask some women for directions, the women saw a pistol on him.

The women who were alarmed by the discovery of the pistol on Captain Mahama mistook him for an armed robber thereby alerting their assembly member who allegedly organised some men to lynch him and even burnt him in the process. 
The women's action is said to have been influenced by recent robbery attacks in the area with a recent one being a day before. 


The military officer was not in uniform when the incident happened and is said to have pleaded with the mob not to lynch him, indicating that he was an army officer and not a criminal, but his plea was not taken by the mob who hit him with several objects including cement blocks

Benue State Police Command has busted two kidnap syndicate of 8 including a Gang of 4 allegedly led by a woman believed to be an associate of the wanted militant leader, Terwase Agwaza, aka Gana, who a week ago abducted a businessman. The police operation also led to the arrest of three women whose responsibilities were to provide food for the victims, who was rescued alive. Armed Robber Burnt To Death In Calabar By Mob After Juju Failed February 16, 2017 A dead man was found lying by the side of the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Murtala Mohammed Highway, closed to RCC roundabout, Calabar after he was burnt to death by an angry mob.
