Paula Tabacaru, Elvis Hasanaj and Kamer Mici were jailed for a total of 11 years for conspiracy to supply class A drugs

A gang who ran a 'drugs hotline' and kept a meticulous list of their debtors has been jailed for a conspiring to flood the streets with almost £60,000-worth of cocaine.

Manchester city centre were busted during a series of raids as part of a specialist police operation.

Elvis Hasanaj, 22, Paula Tabacaru, 23, and and Kamer Mici, 26, were jailed at
Manchester Crown Court on Thursday.
The court heard how Tabacaru would take orders on a drugs hotline and use Mici and Hasanaj as runners around the city centre.

The trio were caught out when officers raided a number of properties across Manchester and Salford as part of Operation Challenger.

Police discovered £57,000-worth of cocaine and more than £36,000 in cash when they searched a property on St Marys Street, Salford in April.
The huge haul was followed by searches on properties in Carlton Avenue, in Rusholme , and Kielder Square, in Salford.

A batch of cocaine worth £550 was found as well as two illegal immigrants, who have since been deported.
Officers also recovered a debt list totalling over £110,000.

Hasanaj, of Kielder Square in Salford, was sentenced to three years in prison for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
Tabacaru, of Trinity Edge, St Marys Street in Salford was jailed for five years and four months for the same offence and gaining from the proceeds of crime.
Mici, of no fixed abode was sentenced to three years in prison for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

PC Paul Halliwell, of GMP's Challenger Manchester team, said: "The drugs trade spreads despair and destroys lives and we will not tolerate anyone who tries to flood our streets with this menace.
"People have told us they want us to tackle the issue of drugs and this action was taken as a result of community concerns.

"I hope this sentence shows that we take drug dealing incredibly seriously and we will relentlessly pursue and dismantle anyone who seeks to profit from misery."
