KIDNAPPERS DEMAND 6MILLION NAIRA AFTER ABDUCTING APC STRONGMAN

Gunmen have abducted a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Imo State, Barrister Kingsley Ononuju.
A family source told our correspondent on Saturday that Ononuju was kidnapped after he left his Owerri residence located at Oguta Street in Aladimma area of the state capital at 8pm on Thursday.

The family source who preferred anonymity said that the gunmen established contact with the family on Friday where they demanded N6m as the condition for his release.

The source said, "We don't know at what point he was kidnapped but his abduction took place after he left his Owerri residence at about 8pm on Thursday. His abductors called on Friday and allowed us to speak to him. We also spoke on Saturday. They are demanding N6m as ransom."

The kidnap victim was a member of the People's Democratic Party and served as a Special Adviser on New Partnership For Africa's Development to the former Governor of the State, Ikedi Ohakim.
When contacted, the state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, said that the kidnap incident had yet to be reported to the police.

Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbo Nla, Epe, Lagos, abducting the principals and some students. The kidnappers were said to have stormed the school in the early hours when the students were at the morning assembly. The gunmen abducted the principal of the junior secondary school, Mr. Oyesola and Mr. Akirinmade who is the Principal of the senior secondary school. They also abducted some of the students. Presenting the case to the House of Representatives, the member representing Epe Constituency, Wale Raji, appealed to the House to call on the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State to treat the case with utmost urgency. In an alleged ecstasy to impress their paymaster, a team of police operatives, on Sunday, shot dead one Elvis Ovie and injured another, Onome Eko, during a party in Warri, Delta State. About a year ago, maybe two, police believe a DeKalb County man in his mid-forties died at home. Nobody found him until Friday, when a homeless man who'd been coming by to scavenge as of late spotted the remains, according to police. The homeless man told a neighbor, who suggested the man call police, but he didn't, so the neighbor called Monday.
