NIGERIA'S TEAM D'TIGRESS BEATS STRONG RIVAL SENEGAL TO WIN BASKET BALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Nigeria's D'Tigress have emerged champions of the 2017 FIBA Women's Afrobasket. D'Tigress won the title on Sunday evening after defeating strong rivals Senegal 65-48 in the final.

Trailing by six points from the first quarter, the Nigerians fought back to win the second quarter 21-10 points. D'Tigress never looked back as they extended their lead by winning the third quarter 15-7 points and the fourth quarter 17-13 points.

Point guard, Osaretin Ekhator, emerged top performer for Nigeria with 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Following their victory, Nigeria also qualified for the FIBA Women's World Cup in Spain next year.

A young teenage couple accused of snatching their newborn baby from hospital have been briefly reunited with their daughter after five days apart. Jayden Lavender, 14, and fiancée Jenifer Morrison, 15, smuggled three-day-old Aria out of the hospital in Sydney at 12.30am on Thursday. SAPULPA, Okla. - Police say an elementary school teacher was arrested on multiple charges after accidentally leaving her Facebook page open on a school computer. Officers were called to Holmes Park Elementary School on Monday after a teacher found Megan Sloan's Facebook page open on a computer, according to KOKI-TV. Authorities say the page featured a conversation where Sloan reportedly asked about using and selling heroin. Detectives told KOKI that during the investigation, Sloan allegedly admitted to pawning two iPads that belonged to the school district. She also reportedly admitted to using money from field trips for gas and drugs. When officers searched Sloan's purse, they allegedly found syringes and substances that tested positive for meth and heroin.
