The Imo State Police Command has paraded five suspects in connection with the murder of Reverend Father Cyriacus Onunkwo.

This comes four days after the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Chris Ezike, confirmed the kidnap and subsequent killing of the priest. 

Onunkwo was murdered after he was reportedly snatched from his vehicle by gunmen on Friday last week in Orlu Local Government Area of the state.

On September 3, Ezike said the remains of the clergyman was discovered in a bush the following day following a manhunt.

Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbo Nla, Epe, Lagos, abducting the principals and some students. The kidnappers were said to have stormed the school in the early hours when the students were at the morning assembly. The gunmen abducted the principal of the junior secondary school, Mr. Oyesola and Mr. Akirinmade who is the Principal of the senior secondary school. They also abducted some of the students. Presenting the case to the House of Representatives, the member representing Epe Constituency, Wale Raji, appealed to the House to call on the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State to treat the case with utmost urgency. About a year ago, maybe two, police believe a DeKalb County man in his mid-forties died at home. Nobody found him until Friday, when a homeless man who'd been coming by to scavenge as of late spotted the remains, according to police. The homeless man told a neighbor, who suggested the man call police, but he didn't, so the neighbor called Monday. Authorities responded and saw the skeleton through a window of the home on Telstar Drive in the Ellenwood area. It lay in bed.
