HER MAJESTY DISMISSES MARRIAGE CRISIS RUMOUR,INITIATES LEGAL ACTION

The office of the Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi has dismissed rumours making the rounds of a marital crisis between her and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi. This was made known in a statement issued by Abraham Adedeji, Olori Wuraola's Press Secretary on Tuesday.

It reads: It has come to the attention of our office – the slanderous rumors and sensationalist distortions about Her Majesty, Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi through unnamed and unseen sources.

The sources are also citing deplorable claims involving Her Majesty Wuraola and that of prominent businessmen in Nigeria, all of whom are good friends of the King and Queen & financial contributors to projects that have advanced our good work in the communities of Ife and Nigeria as a whole.

We are deeply disturbed by these rumors and there is absolutely no truth to these absurd claims of infidelity and we vehemently deny them. Due to the nature of the allegations and the attempt to defame the character of the Queen and embarrass well respected friends of our Palace, we have immediately employed legal counsel to investigate their origin to take necessary action against the perpetrators.

Senator Dino Melaye The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has withdrawn its motion seeking an order of the Federal High Court in Abuja allowing it to serve the recall petition on the Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye. Justice Nnamdi Dimgba struck out the motion after INEC’s lawyer, Yunus Ustaz (SAN), announced its withdrawal in court on Thursday. The judge also directed that all issues pertaining to the case should thereafter be taken to the Court of Appeal. The 7 year olds mother says this photo was taken after police put the boy in handcuffs. The mother of a 7-year-old child is demanding answers after her son was allegedly handcuffed at school and taken to a mental health facility in Texas. “My son is a special-needs child, and he requires those special needs,” the boy’s mother, April Obis, told WBRC Fox 6 News. According to Obis, her son has attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which can result in disruptive behavior. A trained counselor at Gabe P. Allen Charter School in Dallas is typically available to help her son cope when an issue arises. 4 DIE IN COTE D'IVOIRE PLANE CRASH

Plane crash. FILE At least four people were killed on Saturday when a propeller-engine cargo plane crashed in the sea near the International Airport in Abidjan, a Reuters witness said. Six others were believed to have been injured in the crash of the Antonov aircraft which police said had 10 people on board. Rescue workers removed two bodies from the plane, which had broken into several pieces and came to rest near the beach. Two other bodies were visible in the wreckage French military sources said that French nationals were among the injured. "The aircraft failed to land and crashed in the water. Firefighters and security forces are on the scene." said police commissioner Charlemagne Bleu.

FIRST GAY PRIME MINISTER FOR SERBIA

The president of Serbia has nominated a gay woman to be his prime minister in a double first for the deeply conservative Balkan state. Ana Brnabic was chosen by the new President, Aleksandar Vucic. Her approval by parliament will be largely a formality, as his party and its allies hold an overwhelming majority. Just a few years ago, the appointment would have been unthinkable. But EU hopeful Serbia can present it as proof of increasing tolerance. Ms Brnabic is not only Serbia's first openly gay PM, but also the first woman in that post. "I believe that Brnabic has professional and personal qualities to be prime minister," Mr Vucic told reporters. He made no mention of her sexuality. SA COMMUNITIES GIVE NIGERIANS QUIT NOTICE

The Nigerian Union in South Africa says Nigerians living in two South African communities have been ordered by those communities to leave their land. This was made known by Ikechukwu Anyene, the President of the Union. Ayene said the Kuruman community in Northern Cape Province gave Nigerians until Thursday  to leave the place while the Klaafontein community, Extension 5, Johannesburg, took a more subtle approach and directed landlords not to renew the rent of Nigerians in the area. He said the South African's grouse with Nigerians is that they believe they are responsible for some social vices like illicit drug trade and prostitution.
