MAN CHARGED FOR ASSAULTING 9 YEAR OLD BOY

Nurudeen Alowole, 48, has been arraigned before an Ogba Magistrates’ Court for alleged assault. He was said to have placed a hot spoon on the left and right hands of 9-year-old Alowole Ibrahim.
Raphael Donny, the prosecuting officer,  told the court that the defendant committed the offence in July 2017 at 4 Power Line Street, Isheri area of Lagos. 
 
Donny said that the offence was punishable under Section 171 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the lone count charge of assault. 
Davies Abegunde, the presiding Magistrate, however granted the defendant a bail of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case till October 25, 2017 for mention.

A young teenage couple accused of snatching their newborn baby from hospital have been briefly reunited with their daughter after five days apart. Jayden Lavender, 14, and fiancée Jenifer Morrison, 15, smuggled three-day-old Aria out of the hospital in Sydney at 12.30am on Thursday. Their disappearance sparked a huge search before the pair were found safe and well 16 hours later after spending a night camping with the infant. The teens were briefly reunited with their baby girl on Tuesday amid the family's fears they would never see her again. 2 TERRORIST COMMANDERS SURRENDER SELVES TO POLICE

The Borno State Police Command said on Wednesday that as a result of "Operation Safe Corridor," the counter-terrorism effort of the Nigerian military, two high profile commanders of the Boko Haram militant group have surrendered, along with their families. In a statement to newsmen in Maiduguri by its public relations officer, DSP Victor Isuku, the command said that 13 civilians were also rescued from suspected kidnappers, with two of the hoodlums dying of injuries received in a gun battle with the police. Two AK-47 rifles were also recovered. EMIR OF KUWAIT US ally Kuwait has given North Korea's ambassador a month to leave the Gulf state and will downgrade its diplomatic representation with Pyongyang, a senior Kuwaiti diplomat told AFP Sunday. Unknown Gunmen Kill University Student, Watchman In Jigawa. 17th Feb 2017, A 27-year-old university student, Muhammad Garzali, was killed by unidentified assailants at Kafinhausa town of Kafinhausa Local Government Area of Jigawa. Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Abdu Jinjiri, an ASP, said that Garzali was murdered alongside a 60-year-old watchman, Ali Dan-Katsina, at a motor park in the area.
