MAN CHARGED FOR ASSAULTING 9 YEAR OLD BOY

Nurudeen Alowole, 48, has been arraigned before an Ogba Magistrates’ Court for alleged assault. He was said to have placed a hot spoon on the left and right hands of 9-year-old Alowole Ibrahim.
Raphael Donny, the prosecuting officer,  told the court that the defendant committed the offence in July 2017 at 4 Power Line Street, Isheri area of Lagos. 
 
Donny said that the offence was punishable under Section 171 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the lone count charge of assault. 
Davies Abegunde, the presiding Magistrate, however granted the defendant a bail of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case till October 25, 2017 for mention.

KOGI GOVERNOR SEEKS ASSEMBLY'S APPROVAL FOR N11 BN SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, in a letter to the State House of Assembly, is seeking the approval of a supplementary budget of N11 billion for the 2017 fiscal year. The governor said the budget would take care of certain areas of economic development that were not previously captured.(Kogi state has not recorded any singular form of development since the present government came into existence) Bello stated that the budget would enable his administration to continue to execute its projects and programmes.(EFCC please note) The governor said it will also address security issues and other obvious sectors' challenges that are within and outside the current approved budget. After reading the letter to the House, Speaker Ahmed Imam directed the Majority Leader, Mathew Kolawole to slate it on the order paper for consideration at the next legislative day. The House is expected to consider the governor's request when members resume sitting on 1 August, 2017.

Malaysia's High Court heard this week Kim Jong Nam had 12 doses of atropine in his sling bag when he was allegedly swabbed with VX nerve agent in Kuala Lumpur International Airport on February 13, news agency Bernama said. POLICE DECLARE SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH POLICE SHOOTING

The Imo State Police Command has declared a suspected armed robber, Ekene Amadi, wanted for allegedly shooting a police Inspector, Oliver Nwaba. According to a statement issued by police spokesperson in the state, Andrew Enwerem, the officer was shot during an attack by Amadi's gang on policemen at Nipping Point at Nkaraha Junction, along Owerri-Port Harcourt Road. Enwerem said the 26-year-old Amadi, who is on the run, had earlier been apprehended by the police on May 22, 2017, arraigned in court and remanded in Owerri prison.
