DRAMA AS ARMED POLICE SWOOP ON A CAR MOMENTS AFTER A SHOOTING IN OLDHAM

Officers surrounded a VW Golf on Manchester Street in Oldham after shots were fired at a house nearby.

This is the dramatic moment armed police dragged a suspect in a shooting from a car and handcuffed him.
Officers surrounded the VW Golf on Manchester Street in Oldham outside Old Mother Hubbard's chip shop shortly after shots were fired at a house nearby.
Video footage shows four armed police officers surround the parked car and point their weapons towards the windows.

Moments later witnesses said they saw the officers dragging a man out of the car, placing him on the floor and handcuffing him.

Two others were also arrested during the drama on Thursday night.
Police revealed on Saturday morning that Sarfraz Nazir, 33, of no fixed abode, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of class A drugs and affray.
He was due to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (Saturday).

A boy of 16 and a 22-year-old man who were also arrested on Thursday night have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police were called to reports that shots had been fired at the front door of a house on Gloucester Street North in Werneth, Oldham, shortly before 10.50pm on Thursday.

It's believed no-one was in the house at the time.
Shebby Mohamed, who witnessed the armed police swoop, said: "There were two police cars and a police car behind me coming from town. The police car blocked his way out. And then three more police cars came within a few seconds. Two other cars came and crossed in front of us. The police were shouting 'come out of the car'. They held up guns.

"The policeman that was shouting, he dragged him out, smacked him on the floor then handcuffed him."
Witnesses on Gloucester Street reported seeing a large police presence in Oldham on Thursday night and hearing a 'loud bang'.

Mohammed Adil said: "I heard one or two gunshots at about 11 or 11.15pm. At first I thought they were fireworks but then I thought if they were there would have been more."
