TRUMP FIRES JAMES COMEY,FBI DIRECTOR

President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey Tuesday, the White House said, moving to oust the man leading an investigation into his campaign operatives’ ties to Russia.

 Mr. Trump insisted he’s not part of the probe, but said he felt compelled to fire the director anyway.
“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau,” Mr. Trump said in a letter to Mr. Comey.

 The president said a new director is needed at the Federal Bureau of Investigation who “restores public trust and confidence” in the agency.
He said he was following the advice of his attorney general and deputy attorney general. The White House said the search for a replacement will begin immediately.

 Democrats said the firing raises troubling questions about the current investigation into Russia and demanded Mr. Trump take steps to make sure the probe continues without interference. The firing is likely to intensify calls for a special prosecutor to take over.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Tuesday paraded a 17-year-old Boko Haram suspect, who admitted killing 18 people since he joined the group three years ago.  The suspect, Ali Mustafa, said he was forced to join the deadly group when Boko Haram terrorists attacked his village in Monguno and left with many boys. The teenager said he gained skill handling assault rifles, with which he executed his victims.  "I was forced to join Boko Haram about three years ago. The suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir Lawal, on Tuesday appeared before the Yemi Osinbajo-led panel, where he answered questions over the alleged violations of due process in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). Lawal arrived the Presidential Villa around 1pm and was ushered before the Vice President. He left at 3.35pm. The panel had on Monday grilled the suspended Director-General of the National Inteligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ayo Oke. Oke was suspended over the recovery of $43million from a Lagos apartment, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Deadly bomb blast hits church in Egypt At least 21 people have been killed and dozens wounded in a bomb attack on a church north of Cairo. Islamist extremists have targeted Christian members of the Coptic Church in the past. The explosion went off inside a Coptic Christian church in the city of Tanta north of Cairo as worshippers were celebrating Palm Sunday. Egyptian state media reported 21 people had been killed and a further 38 wounded.   Footage from CBC TV from inside the Mar Girgis (St George's) Coptic Church showed dead bodies covered with papers. Coptic Christians make up about 10 percent of Egypt's population and are regularly the target of Islamist extremists. Palm Sunday is one of the holiest days of the Christian calendar, marking the triumphant entrance of Jesus to the city of Jerusalem.
