RICHEST AFRICAN SAYS HE HAS NO PLANS TO RUN FOR POLITICAL OFFICE

Billionaire entrepreneur Aliko Dangote has ruled out the possibility of running for the office of the Nigerian president in 2019 or after.

He said he is not a political animal as he is more comfortable in the business world where he is a colossus.

This is contained in an issue of the Bloomberg Markets Magazine.

He said: "No, I'm not interested in active politics. There's quite a lot we can do from the business side. I enjoy a lot of what I am doing and I also love my freedom and I don't have too much.

"The little (freedom) I have, politics would take away. I am not ready to give that up. There are businessmen who are interested in politics. I'm not one of them.

"Well, in Africa, yes, I do think you need politicians. But at the same time, we cannot get things right unless there is good cooperation between politicians and businessmen. It's a win-win. When you look at it today, in Nigeria, over 85 percent of the GDP is from the private sector."

Six dead, tens injured in DEADLY highway crash  has claimed six -The accident involved a saloon car and a bus -Five of the deceased were from the saloon car Six people lost their lives early on Sunday morning after deadly accident involving a saloon car and a bus along the Londiani-Muhoroni-Kisumu Highway . The meeting of the Federal Executive Council that holds every Wednesday did not hold yesterday. Yesterday would have afforded President Muhammadu Buhari who returned to the country on Saturday the opportunity of presiding over the council meeting for the first time in over three months. Late Joy Odama Autopsy has revealed that Joy Odama who was allegedly killed by an Alhaji in Abuja, died after inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. Joy Odama, a 200 level undergraduate Mass Communication student at Cross River State University, according to her mother was murdered by Usman Adamu. Former President, Mr Goodluck Jonathan has confirmed the theft of his property from his house in Abuja. He confirmed the incident in a statement by his spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, following some media reports that the home was stripped bare and some of the items stolen were being sold in markets.
