The Enugu state command of the Nigeria Police Force in its renewed onslaught/manhunt against the daredevil who are torn on the flesh of the members of the public in the early hours of 31/7/17 through its operatives of the TransEkulu Division of the Nigeria Police Force encountered suspected hoodlums numbering about four through a distress call in which the operatives responded swiftly.

It was gathered that suspects armed with a pump action riffle had allegedly gone to a house situated at Onuakpa street Transekulu Enugu from where they allegedly broke into the owners house and allegedly robbed occupants of their valuables and thereafter was about abducting and whisking away one of the occupants of the house, a 76 year old mercy chijioke in her own car before the operatives of the Trans Ekulu Division who responded swiftly to the distress call that was raised encountered and in the ensuing gun battle, one of the suspects was gun down and later confirmed dead while others were fatally injured and arrested.

After weeks of intensive manhunt, the Lagos state police command has arrested one Ismaila Adeyemi, 49, the suspected mastermind and killer of Hector Jobateh (the 2007 winner of Gulder Ultimate search) who was traced and shot dead at his residence at New Oko-Oba in Agege, Lagos State. The suspect who was arrested at gas line Ominiyi in Ijoko area of Ogun state, confessed to the crime and other numerous crimes, while other members of his gang have been arrested. The suspects will be charged to court after investigation is concluded.

NEW ORLEANS — Authorities in Louisiana say a man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend, fatally shooting her parents and then torching their home has apparently hanged himself. News outlets report that Jefferson Parish Coroner Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich says 29-year-old Jatory Evans apparently hanged himself Wednesday at the Jefferson Parish Jail. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen Boyd says he was found around 4:25 p.m. and pronounced dead later. Authorities say Evans stabbed his estranged girlfriend, 20-year-old Sydney Hanson, in the bedroom of a home on Nov. 7 before igniting the room while she was still alive. She was seven months pregnant. He’s also accused of shooting and stabbing Hanson’s mother, Samantha Hanson, and shooting her father, Dwayne Hanson, in the head.Cvitanovich says his office will conduct an autopsy on Evans.

A legislative coup against the Nigerian Acting Vice President,prof Yemi Osinbajo has been averted,as the senate attempted to make Saraki Immediate Acting President. A mild drama occurred on the floor of the Senate, on Tuesday, when a point of order was raised, that the Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, was the Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Senator Eyinanya Abaribe (Abia South), had raised a motion that the country had no President or Acting President at the moment, adding that, President Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbajo, were neither in the country, as at the time. Youths and traders protest customs invasion of rice warehouse Feb 23rd 2017; Some youths and traders have brought activities and vehicular movement on the ever busy Lagos-Abeokuta expressway to a halt, following a protest over alleged invasion of the rice market by men of the Nigerian Customs Service.The protest which was said to have lasted for hours, took the intervention of the Sango Ota Police Area Commander, Adegoke Fayoade, to restore normalcy to the area. Meanwhile, the Customs Public Relations Officer, Federal Operation Unit, Jerry Attah, dismissed the claims of market invasion, explaining that men of the command on surveillance noticed smugglers were moving rice in bulk on motorcycles from a canoe to a store in the area. He added that the command only evacuated some of the alleged smuggled rice at the warehouse in the early hours of Wednesday.The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said normal activities have been restored to the area.
