KOGI GOVERNOR SEEKS ASSEMBLY'S APPROVAL FOR N11 BN SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, in a letter to the State House of Assembly, is seeking the approval of a supplementary budget of N11 billion for the 2017 fiscal year. The governor said the budget would take care of certain areas of economic development that were not previously captured.(Kogi state has not recorded any singular form of development since the present government came into existence) Bello stated that the budget would enable his administration to continue to execute its projects and programmes.(EFCC please note) The governor said it will also address security issues and other obvious sectors' challenges that are within and outside the current approved budget. After reading the letter to the House, Speaker Ahmed Imam directed the Majority Leader, Mathew Kolawole to slate it on the order paper for consideration at the next legislative day. The House is expected to consider the governor's request when members resume sitting on 1 August, 2017.

Shock as Abuja Man Commit Suicide, Set Himself in a Rented Hotel Room (Photos) 17th Feb 2017 The dead man. The residents of Nyanya, a satellite town of Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja, were left in total shock on Thursday, after a man believed to be in his early 60s, set himself ablaze in a rented hotel apartment. According to Spiegel Online, a German newspaper, tonnes of hazardous electronic waste from Germany find their way into Nigeria daily. According to the story; "Billstrasse", a community, "about five kilometers from the port of Hamburg, is the hub of a global bill of exchange. Before the shops, old stereo systems and yellowed refrigerators are loaded daily in minivans" from where they make their way to West Africa with Nigeria as the ultimate destination. With a population of over 170 million and borders so porous and corruptly manned, Nigeria often serves as the final destination for used goods from all over the world. The report from Spiegel Online indicates that most of the used electronics that end up in Africa's biggest market, are polluting the living environments.
