MAN GETS PAID RANSOME FOR OWN FATHER'S KIDNAP

An unidentified man and his accomplices were arrested on Wednesday by the Oyo state police command for allegedly being a part of his father's kidnap.

According to online sources, it was gathered that the suspect and his gang received the sum of N1 million from the ransom collected.

The state's commissioner of police, Abiodun Adekunle Odude revealed that the kidnap took place at Igboora in Ibarapa area of the state, around 6pm, May 17.

"The suspect said he got a share of less than N1 million in the ransom collected although he confessed that his father never offended him," he added.

Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an Anton Piller order, directing the seizure of a film titled "Okafor's Law" directed by Nollywood Producer, Omoni Oboli. The court also issued an interim order, suspending the release and launch of the film, in any movie theatre or cinema house on March 31, pending the determination of a motion on notice before the court. The judge ordered the seizure of all copies, materials, projections or infringing materials, relating to the subject matter. The orders followed an ex parte application filed by a company, Rancoteur Productions Ltd, on behalf of a Canada based script writer, Jude Idada. Idada lays claim to the film "Okafor's Law" as his intellectual property. Police officers The Ondo State Police Command says it had arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and killing of two female students of the Adeyemi College of Education in Ondo state. The Public Relations Officer of the command, Femi Joseph, revealed that one of the suspects was arrested on Friday after participating in a robbery operation in Ondo town, while the other accomplices were arrested on Saturday.
