TERRORIST GROUP ATTACK MILITARY BASE IN NIGERIA AHEAD OF INDEPENDENCE DAY

Scores of Boko Haram militants were killed on Friday evening during a failed attempt to attack military Barrack in Bama town of Bama local government area of Borno State.
DAILY POST learnt that the attackers engaged the military within the hours of 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., before they were repelled.

A security source told DAILY POST that the attackers burnt down one military vehicle and also killed a police officer while retreating after they were overwhelmed by the military.
“The Boko Haram elements tried to enter Bama Army barracks but they didn’t succeed; the military killed many of the terrorists,” the source hinted.
Attempt, however, to get the military to speak on the report did not yield result as the deputy director, army public relations, theatre command of the operation lafiya dole, Col. Onyema Nwachukwu did not pick his calls when contacted.

Two Seattle police officers were shot Thursday while responding to a robbery at a 7-Eleven, according to the city's police department. The two officers, one male and one female, were brought to the Harborview Medical Center. The hospital tweeted that the male officer was upgraded to serious but stable condition, and that the female officer remained in satisfactory condition. Kogi herbalist to die by hanging for killing 2 brothers A herbal medicine practitioner and ritualist, Ibrahim Mohammed, has been sentenced to death by hanging for killing two brothers in Koton-Karfe area of Kogi State. He was accused of killing two brothers, Muhammed Kudu Abubakar and Umar Tanko. The herbalist was said to have administered poison on them before hitting them on the head with a pestle and then buried their corpses in a shallow grave in his compound.
