The annual Oodua Festival 2017 edition held at the Palace Square of Ooni of Ife, Ile-Ife, State of Osun.

The festival was graced by His Imperial Majesty Oba (Dr) Adeyeye Ogunwusi Enitan, Zaki of Arigidi Akokoland Oba Yisa Olanipekun and other members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and Oodua Progressive Union (OPU).
Speaking at the event, the Ooni of Ife urged Yorubas to always remember their ancestral home, ensure unity and progress of the Yoruba race.
The festival which is powered by the Olokun Festival Foundation witnessed dance performance by different troupes.

NSCDC operatives File The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it discovered an illegal refinery in a rented apartment in Sokoto state. The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Babangida Dutsin-ma, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Sokoto. The wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, and the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, on Saturday, condemned the rape of a six-month-old baby, stressing that the culprit must be made to face the music. The infant, who is now eight months old, was allegedly violated by 30-year-old Muktakar Muhammad, assisted by his wife. The Rivers State Police Command has nabbed a suspected cultist, who allegedly used a kidnap victim's intestines to prepare pepper soup. The Command also disclosed that two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the ritual killing of the eight-year-old girl, Miss Chikamso Mezuwuba, by a suspected ritualist, Ifeanyichikwu Dike. The  Police in Lagos have warned residents of the state against subjecting suspected criminals to jungle justice. Fatai Owoseni, the state police commissioner, in a statement on Friday warned that those found involved in the "unlawful and barbaric act" would be prosecuted.   "There is no justification for jungle justice on suspected persons," Mr. Owoseni said.   "It is barbaric and uncivilized. It is a manifestation of the erosion of our moral values and a disregard to sanctity of human lives.
