We must consolidate on Ibori's legacies – Okowa

UGHELLI—Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, has said the state government will continue to consolidate on the gains and legacies of the administration of former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, since 1999.

Speaking at the palace of the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom, Ogurime'rime, Ukori I, during the 2017 Agbon Day celebration, weekend, the governor also called on public spirited individuals and politicians to support government's developmental efforts in their respective communities.
Speaking at the event which was also attended by the former governor, Okowa said: "We must continue to consolidate on the gains of the foundations of what our leader, Chief Ibori, did since 1999.
"We are trying to empower our youths so that they can create jobs for themselves and others. We will continue to engage our people from Agbon Kingdom as their relationship with the government will help to empower the communities."
In his remark, the monarch, Ukori I, while commending the governor for the development strides in the kingdom, lamented the challenges of electricity power supply in the area and called on the Federal Government to provide a lasting solution to the problem.
