The attack is said to have occurred on Monday, February 20, in Mifi and Ashim communities in the Kaura Local Government Area.

14 persons have been killed in a fresh attack in the Southern part of Kaduna State, reports say.The attack is said to have occurred on Monday, February 20, in Mifi and Ashim communities in the Kaura Local Government Area, according to Leadership.
The deaths have reportedly been confirmed by Local Government Chairman, Alex Iya and state lawmaker, Dr. Yakubu Bityong who represents Kaura constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The names of the deceased have been given as: Chayuwai Manti , 73, Ezekiel Kanwai, 23,
Bridget Aba , 61, Bridget Samuila 42, Samuila Kuzamam 47, Matthew Daniel 37, Edward Matthew 10, Omega Matthew 8, Adam Noga , 46, Moses Ndong, 68, Likita Adam , 12, Musa John, 13, Mboi Waje , 14 and Fidelix Kakah.
The killings in the Southern Kaduna area have been blamed on Fulani herdsmen.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said that his government will prosecute every one found guilty of perpetrating the attacks.
El-Rufai also admitted to paying some herdsmen compensation to stop the attacks adding that his government had run out of options.

*Police were called to Piccadilly bus station after a suitcase was found on the 192 bus and a man reportedly ran from the scene A suitcase has been left on a bus at Piccadilly bus station sparking a security alert. Police were called to Portland Street after the suitcase was found on the 192 bus at 11.35am. Greater Manchester Police officers are on their way to the scene to investigate. It's understood a man got onto the Stagecoach bus and dropped the suitcase in the middle aisle. He then reportedly ran off the bus service, which was travelling from the city centre to Stockport. An attempt by a mother of two children to smuggle a phone to her boyfriend in prison custody has been foiled by the officials of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The 33-year-old woman, Fatima Balogun who has been arrested by men of the Special Intelligence Unit of the NPS, carried out the action on Wednesday at the gate lodge of Abeokuta maximum Prisons in Ibara. The suspect confessed that she hid the phone which she bought for her boyfriend identified as Ganiyu Ajibode, in the cooler of soup from the Prisons officials. Balogun said she was a divorcee with two children before she met Ganiyu about two years back.   Civil rights activist the Rev. Jesse Jackson said Friday that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. A neurological disorder with no cure, Parkinson's can cause tremors, stiffness and difficulty balancing, walking and coordinating movement.   "My family and I began to notice changes about three years ago," Jackson wrote in a statement. "After a battery of tests, my physicians identified the issue as Parkinson's disease, a disease that bested my father." Two Fulani herdsmen, Umar and Musa Ali, who are brothers, have been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at Tudun Lambaga in the Eggon Hills area, Eggon Local Government Area of the state. The victim, simply identified as Esther, was reportedly ambushed and assaulted by the suspects at a secluded part of the road. According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Nassarawa, DSP Kennedy Idirisu, Umar and Musa had been apprehended following a complaint by Esther’s parents.
