OREGON MAN ARRESTED AFTER SETTING STRANGER ABLAZE AT DENNY'S RESTAURANT

By
An Oregon man was arrested after police said he poured gasoline on a stranger and then lit him on fire at a Denny's restaurant in Happy Valley, Oregon, ABC affiliate KATU reported on Thursday.

The 24-year old man, identified by police as Deshaun Swanger according to KATU, was arrested shortly before 8 p.m. local time. Police said the suspect poured liquid onto the victim, a 69-year old man who is now in critical condition, and then lobbed a burning object at him. The suspect then fled the scene.

"This just seems like a, a random act of violence," said Sgt. Jason Ritter of the Clackamas County Sheriff's office, according to the KATU report.

The victim was taken a local hospital, where he remained in critical condition as of Thursday, KATU said.

A surveillance tape recorded the suspect walking into the restaurant, and police put out a notice of his description.

He was later apprehended, with the local Clackamas County Sheriff's Office tweeting, "We got him!"
"We are deeply disturbed by the senseless, random act of violence that took place at our franchised-owned Happy Valley restaurant, and our thoughts and prayers are with our guest that was seriously injured," read a statement from a Denny's spokesperson provided to KATU.

UNRELIABLE NIGERIAN GOVT ; URGENT ATTENTION TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION OF NIGERIAN PRISONERS IN GHANA AND IN DIASPORA

I usually do not write, talk or contribute to whatever it is that has to do with prisoners generally. Why because, even though I am not perfect,I do not have a criminal record and I know how very careful I mind myself, the law and people in general to avoid even been invited as witness in any case, talk more of been a plaintiff or accused. But the post below has touched and drawn my attention to the suffering of the people involved even though I do not know them and in as much as I can not authenticate the post or source,I know and believe there are lots of Nigerians and other nationals in this very situation around Africa and the world. My concentration here is on Nigerians,in as much as I hardly feel for criminals (not saying all prisoners are guilty),we have a country very terrible, from our heartless shadow boxing pretender of a president Buhari to almost all of our senators and representatives nation wide, who abandon and ignore their very duties to serve Nigerians and instead concentra...

LYING LIE MOHAMMED BY FEMI FANI-KAYODE

LYING LIE MOHAMMED BY FEMI FANI-KAYODE This is not the time for preaching peace when the enemy is ready to destroy the world. To forgive Islamic terrorists is up to God but to send them to see God is my duty” – President Vladimir Putin. Is there any sane person that disagrees with Putin ? Evidently there are a few people in high places in Nigeria that do. The greatest evil that plagues our land today are not Boko Haram or the Fulani miliitias. The greatest evil are those so-called moderate Muslims and practising Christians who pretend that the terrorists don’t exist, who turn a blind eye to their evil and who sit back silently and watch them. Consider the foul-breathed, pamper-wearing lying Lai Mohammed, Buhari’s Minister of Information. He falls squarly into that category. The other day he claimed that the assertion that Muslims kill Christians in Nigeria “is a fallacy”. This man is nothing but scum. He is filth. He is sick. He is an unrepentant and pernicious liar. He is the low...

NIGERIA'S POPULATION OUTGROWING NATION'S ECONOMY

By
Image
The managing director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, has stated that the economy of some West African nations, including Nigeria, is not growing at the same rate as its population. She made this statement on Thursday while addressing the press at the ongoing International Monetary Fund annual meetings holding in Washington. She said, "Sub Saharan Africa (which Nigeria is part of one) is one region of the world where growth is way suboptimal. Those countries 2.5 percent. That is too low for the demographic expansion of the region. "There are different countries if we are to look Rwanda it is a different situation from that of Togo and Ghana is going to be different from Mozambique and so on. "It is still to low for the demographic growth. For that region to take advantage of the demographic dividend of all the young people who are coming up and trying to have access to the economy and have a job, it is too low."
