NIGERIAN GAY PASTOR MACAULAY SENDS WARNING TO FELLOW GAYS IN NIGERIA

Nigeria’s first openly gay pastor, Jide Macaulay has issued a warning to his fellow gay men in Nigeria. In a post he shared on Facebook, Jide warned all gay men to stay away from “hook ups”, as it is basically what leads to their arrest. 

 He wrote:

 NIGERIA: There are news of mass gay arrests by the police and many blackmailing activities via gay social media. Please BE WARNED.

 We also need to warn the LGBTQ people!! All these “hook up” is getting you into trouble and danger. Even some gays have become set up agents in that lawless country Nigeria.

 The US-Based pastor also reacted to the news where 53 persons were arrested during a gay wedding in Zaria. He wrote:

 This is truly outrageous. Nigeria law enforcement and the government should focus on fighting terrorism, poverty, injustices and not homosexuals. Despicable.

 “Extortion, mob violence, arbitrary arrest, torture in detention, and physical and sexual violence” are common against people suspected of homosexual activities, HRW said in a 2016 report.

BOMADI— THE right hand of a suspected cult member was, yesterday, chopped off, following a clash between two rival cult gangs at Tuomo community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State. Meanwhile, five members of the gangs were arrested during a raid on their hideouts by security operatives from the State Vigilante Group, the Bomadi Police Division and military personnel attached to the 222 Battalion, Bomadi. The police in Jigawa State have arrested one Dahiru Adamu 25, of Agufa village in Miga Local Government Area for killing, one Ishak Sa’ed, who allegedly trespassed into his house with the intention to r*pe his bride, DailyTrust reports.  It was gathered that Adamu ambushed his victim when he came to his house for the fourth time in four days allegedly with the intention to r*pe his bride. Adamu attacked Sa\'ed with a stick. The victim died later after undergoing treatment, state police spokesman, SP Abdul Jinjiri revealed.  Jinjiri said the accused was at present in police custody undergoing interrogation. The whistle blowing policy of the Federal Government appears to be paying off as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday announced that it uncovered foreign currencies and Naira notes to the tune of $43.4 million, £27,800 and N23.2 million at a four-bedroom apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos. The total amount of money recovered at the current Central Bank exchange rate is over N13 billion. The operation followed a confidential information received by the Commission's Lagos office regarding some suspicious movement of bags in and out of a particular apartment in the building. Another source who is conversant with the apartment indicated that a woman usually appeared on different occasions with 'Ghana Must Go' bags, the EFCC said.
