Former Special Assistant on New Media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is an arm of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a post on his Facebook page, the former presidential aide lamented the partiality in the handling of corruption cases by the anti-graft agency.

"Murtala Nyako, an APC member belonging to President Muhammadu Buhari's 97% voting bloc was accused of stealing ₦29 billion.

"He applied to travel abroad for medical treatment before Justice Abang and the EFCC DID NOT oppose his application and it was granted.

"Olisa Metuh a PDP member belonging to President Muhammadu Buhari's 5% voting bloc is accused of having received NSA funds of ₦400 million and using it for campaigning for the PDP (note that he was not accused of stealing).

"He applied to travel abroad for a spinal injury to the same Justice Abang and the EFCC opposed his application and it was denied despite tendering reports from multiple neurosurgeons.

"Think about that before you come here to tell me that this current EFCC is not an arm of the APC," he wrote.

EGYPT BLOCKS 21 WEBSITES FROM FUNCTIONING WITHIN IT'S BORDERS

Egypt on Thursday blocked 21 websites, including Qatari news network Al Jazeera and Islamist-affiliated platforms, following in the footsteps of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Among those blocked since Wednesday evening is the website of the now-banned Muslim Brotherhood, Ikhwan Online, according to a report in the privately owned Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper. All websites blocked contain material that “support terrorism and extremism as well as publish lies,” a security source was quoted as saying. The Arabic edition of the Huffington Post was blocked, although the English-language version was accessible. The independent Cairo-based Mada Masr was another site blocked. SAPULPA, Okla. - Police say an elementary school teacher was arrested on multiple charges after accidentally leaving her Facebook page open on a school computer. Officers were called to Holmes Park Elementary School on Monday after a teacher found Megan Sloan's Facebook page open on a computer, according to KOKI-TV. Authorities say the page featured a conversation where Sloan reportedly asked about using and selling heroin. Detectives told KOKI that during the investigation, Sloan allegedly admitted to pawning two iPads that belonged to the school district. She also reportedly admitted to using money from field trips for gas and drugs.
