MAGU'S CASE ; PROF SAGAY BLASTS PARLIAMENT,CALLS SENATE "THE BAD PARTY IN NIGERIA"

The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay has strongly criticized the insistent refusal of the National Assembly to approve Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Sagay, in an interview with Channels TV early this morning, said the Senate was only discharging its duties with self-love and tyranny at the expense of the country. He noted the case of rejecting appointment of Magu as the EFCC Boss is a peculiar case.
"The Senate is the bad party in this country. The Executice can proceed with the confirmation of Ibrahim Magu as the Chairman of the EFCC as stipulated by the law. if the Senate is not careful, Magu will remain the EFCC boss without the consent of the legislature. The Acting President is right for saying that", the Professor of Law stated.

Nigerian hip-hop artist Innocent Idibia, better known as TuFace, has abandoned his much-hyped plan to lead a nationwide protest against the Nigerian government. Mr. Idibia had said in several statements that his protest was to draw attention to the widespread suffering and deepening poverty in Nigeria. A Jehovah's Witness convention in Angola was attacked with toxic gas on Friday, causing over 400 people to faint. A local news source, Portal de Angola, reported on Saturday that three young men were detained after the attack. According to the report, some 7,000 worshippers were at a venue on the outskirts of Luanda for the weekend-long convention. Forty-three victims were rushed to the hospital, but no deaths have been reported. A witness, Abraham Kituxi, told Portal de Angola that his sister-in-law was one of the first to collapse. She told him that she had smelled something foul before passing out. Shortly thereafter, more people began collapsing, creating panic throughout the venue. Close to 24 hours after their abduction, the whereabouts of the kidnapped German archaeologist, Professor Peter Breunij and his research fellow, Johannes Buringer remains unknown. The two german nationals were abducted on Thursday afternoon around Kaduna State-Abuja axis, a security source in Abuja who is closely following the situation has told SaharaReporters. THE LATE BELOVED SENATOR ISIAKA ADELEKE Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, rescued an aide to Osun State Governor, Ms Idiat Babalola, from mob attack at the premises of the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, on Monday. According to the Senior Special Assistant (Media) to Amosun, Mr. Adejuwon Soyinka, the crowd of sympathisers demanded that Babalola be made to leave the premises of the Ede,Osun State country home of the Adelekes.
