A husband and wife from Florida are serving prison time for their roles in the country's first-of-its-kind case involving both health care fraud and sex trafficking.

Mollie Halpern: A husband and wife from Florida are serving prison time for their roles in the country's first-of-its-kind case involving both health care fraud and sex trafficking.
Kenneth and Laura Chatman owned housing and alcohol and drug addiction treatment centers meant to provide young patients with medical and clinical services.
Instead, Kenny gave some of his patients drugs, coerced them into prostitution, and filed more than $70 million worth of fraudulent claims to their insurance plans.
Case agent William Stewart says more than a dozen of Kenny's patients died from overdoses.
William Stewart: He really preyed on these individuals and their addiction. He made money off of their helplessness and off of their addiction.
Halpern: Investigators pored over financial and insurance records to find evidence of the Chatmans' and their co-conspirators' crimes.
It was a collaborative effort between all levels of law enforcement.
Stewart: Without their resources coming together with our resources, and their experience, we absolutely could not have handled the scope of this problem.
Mollie Halpern: Kenny and Laura Chatman enjoyed lavish lifestyles but now live behind bars as they were sentenced to 27 and three years in prison, respectively.

Niger police arrest 194 suspects,recover 48 weapons February 13, 2017 The Niger State Police Command said it arrested 194 suspects and recovered over 48 dangerous weapons from criminals in parts of the state. SAPULPA, Okla. - Police say an elementary school teacher was arrested on multiple charges after accidentally leaving her Facebook page open on a school computer. Officers were called to Holmes Park Elementary School on Monday after a teacher found Megan Sloan's Facebook page open on a computer, according to KOKI-TV. Authorities say the page featured a conversation where Sloan reportedly asked about using and selling heroin. Detectives told KOKI that during the investigation, Sloan allegedly admitted to pawning two iPads that belonged to the school district. She also reportedly admitted to using money from field trips for gas and drugs. 72-year-old Actor John Heard, who played the role of Peter McCallister in hit 90s movies Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, was reportedly found dead in his hotel room. This is really shocking. A teenage girl from Imo State identified as Chidinma Iheoma was caught by security operatives with human head. According to the security men, the head which was detached from the deceased body – was found with the girl who carried it in a bag before she was apprehended. When quizzed by security operatives in a video footage posted online, she initially claimed she was on her way to bury the head but later disclosed that her friend was the person who cut the head and that she has killed two people so far.

FIVE MEN ALLEGEDLY GANG-RAPE LADY PUBLICLY

Five men have gang raped a 21-year-old woman on her way to work. The incident occurred around 5.30am at Irawo area of Owode Onirin, Ikorodu, Lagos. She was seized on her way to the bus terminal and taken to a corner where the men took turns in raping her. PM Express reports that she reported the matter to her parents who notified the police. The police have arrested one of the suspects, 21-year-old Mathew Odunayo. He has been arraigned before an Ogba Magistrates Court for sexual assault and unlawful penetration. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum. The presiding magistrate, JA Abegun, adjourned the case till 19 May.
