MOTHER THROWS HER NEWLY BORN BABY INSIDE SOAKAWAY


A mother of six from Guru village in outskirt of Bauchi, Bauchi State has confessed that she threw her one day old infant into the soak -away shortly after delivering her at home because of hardship.
Juliana James, an indigene of Shendan LGA of Plateau State, wept profusely as she spoke with journalists at the Police Command Headquarters in Bauchi, saying she loved her child.
The housewife who lives with her husband James and her six children-five girls and a boy in a one room apartment – claimed that things were so rough for her family that she decided that the way out was to sacrifice the new born.
“Things are hard. My husband has no job. He had an accident three months ago he is still in the hospital ago and the situation became worse for us. We don’t see food to eat. We were dying of starvation. 
I delivered at home and threw the baby in the toilet because I don’t know how we are going to take care of it. I didn’t tell my husband,” she narrated amidst sobs.
The newborn whose cry attracted neighbours, was rescued alive nearly 12 hours later before being rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa University Teaching Hospital for medical attention. 
A source claimed that Juliana seemed to be depressed due to hardship. “She was a hardworking mother who fried bean-cake in the neighborhood but for some time now, during her pregnancy, she had not been coming out. May be the recession took it’s toll on her,” the source said. Crdt: Punchng

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A Memphis preschool worker has been charged with aggravated child abuse after police say she dragged a 16-month-old boy by one leg and broke the other. Police said the toddler was injured September 20 at the M.E.M. Preschool and Summer Camp on Macon road while he was being watched by Omeika Williams. Investigators said Williams told the child’s parents the boy tripped over a rug and hurt his left leg, but video from the preschool showed her dragging the boy by his right leg causing his left to twist under his body. An Ile-Ife Magistrate Court has remanded one Isreal Ojimi, 38, said to be a prophet and Bose Adetimikan, 27, in prison custody over alleged rituals. The prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 20, 2017, around 10:00 pm at Mosarajo area via Ile-Ife. According to him, they had armed themselves with some charms in the form of a garment with an intention to commit felony. He further explained that they conducted themselves in a manner that caused mayhem, adding that their behavior was against the norms and ethics of the nation and had contravened sections 213, 249 (d) and 516 of the State Penal Code. Although defence counsel, Mr Alaba Awoseemo pleaded for their bail in most libral terms, the plea was not accepted. Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode, however, asked the counsel to put the plea in writing and ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody. Amilcar Henriquez shot dead in his Panama home . Police in Panama say national team soccer player Amilcar Henriquez has been shot dead while leaving his home. The press chief for Panama’s National Police says the killing happened Saturday in the country’s Colon province. Authorities say a gunman shot the 33-year-old midfielder several times. February 15 2017 A homicide investigation is underway Wednesday after two bodies, presumed to be missing 13-year-olds Liberty German and Abigail Williams, were found on Tuesday.
