Six foreigners nabbed for allegedly burning down NSCDC office in Jigawa




The Jigawa State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has said it arrested six nationals of Niger Republic and 21 other suspects for allegedly burning down its office in Maigatari Local Government Area of the state.

 The corps’ Spokesman, Adamu Abdullahi confirmed the arrest to newsmen in Dutse.

 According to him, an investigation into the case had since commenced after which the suspects would be prosecuted.

 Abdullahi said: “Some suspected hoodlums had on March 30 allegedly razed down the NSCDC’s office in Maigatari town.

 “As I told you, the other time, we have identified those suspected to have participated in burning down our office in Maigatari.

 “So, yesterday in the night, we sent our men to the area and were able to arrest 27 suspects.
“But six of them are from Niger Republic, while the rest are from Maigatari town.

 “Also, seven of the 27 suspects are juveniles.“For these juveniles, after our investigation, we will decide whether to send them to juvenile court or invite their parents to sign an undertaking, depending on the outcome of the investigation,’’ he said.

72-year-old Clarence White who got fed up of his wife complaining about his inability to satisfy her sexually or financially ended up pulling the trigger on her. The man is said to have grabbed a 22-caliber handgun and shot his much-younger wife in the face at their Bronx home on Thursday morning. A disgruntled husband killed his wife during their cruise-ship vacation because "she would not stop laughing at me," according to newly filed court papers. NIGERIAN ARMY AND POLICE CLASH BLOODY,4 DIE

A bloody clash between the army and police in Nigeria's restive northeastern Yobe state on Wednesday left one soldier and three police dead, a security source told AFP.  The police confirmed the fracas in the state capital of Damaturu, but did not say if there were casualties.  "The Nigeria police force is abreast of the unfortunate incident that occurred in the early hours of today 12th April, 2017 in Damaturu between the personnel of the force and that of the Nigerian army," police spokesman Jimoh Moshood said in a statement.  He said an investigation had been launched to determine "the causes of the incident and deal with the situation appropriately to prevent such occurrence in the future".  The army authorities were not immediately available for comment.
