Two people have been killed after a police helicopter monitoring violent clashes between white supremacists and anti-fascists in Charlottesville, Virginia, crashed.

In a message on Twitter, Donald Trump said: "Deepest condolences to the families and fellow officers of the Virginia State Police who died today. You're all among the best this nation produces."

Fighting broke out between the two groups after far-right demonstrators gathered to protest against plans to remove a statue to Civil War Confederate general, Robert E Lee.

Some were dressed in paramilitary uniforms and carried assault rifles, while others were had shields, helmets and gas masks. At least one person was killed when a car drove into a group of anti-fascist activists.

Police said the pilot and a passenger had died in the police helicopter.
Officials said the crash was linked to the protests, but it was not immediately clear whether this was simply because the helicopter had been monitoring events on the ground or if there was any other kind of connection.

Local people told the Daily Progress
newspaper that the helicopter had been hovering low over some houses before moving over an area of woodland, where it crashed near Birdwood Golf Course.

Police said the toddler was injured September 20 at the M.E.M. Preschool and Summer Camp on Macon road while he was being watched by Omeika Williams. An Ile-Ife Magistrate Court has remanded one Isreal Ojimi, 38, said to be a prophet and Bose Adetimikan, 27, in prison custody over alleged rituals. The prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 20, 2017, around 10:00 pm at Mosarajo area via Ile-Ife. The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, May 9, remanded a politician identified as Charles Eni-Umukoro over the murder of his wife, Louisa Eni-Umukoro, who was a director in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Justice Mary-Anne Aninih ordered the remand of Eni-Umukoro in Kuje Prison, FCT pending the hearing of his bail application. Amilcar Henriquez shot dead in his Panama home . Police in Panama say national team soccer player Amilcar Henriquez has been shot dead while leaving his home. The press chief for Panama’s National Police says the killing happened Saturday in the country’s Colon province. Authorities say a gunman shot the 33-year-old midfielder several times. Another two people were wounded. The player died at a nearby hospital. President Juan Carlos Varela has condemned the killing on his Twitter account.
