NO RESPONSIBLE IGBO PERSON SUPPORTS BIAFRA

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has berated leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu's agitation for Biafra, describing it as child's play.

The governor spoke on Wednesday after leading a delegation of the Southeast Governors Forum on a visit to victims of the recent Benue flood disaster in Benue state.

The governor said no reasonable Igbo man was backing the agitation.

"I have always said that IPOB is an agitation group, but the captioning is bad when you talk of sovereignty within a sovereign nation and also talking of secession.

"Let me assure you that no Igbo person or man is in support of secession and people must see this as a childish act. We must stand up to address it before it becomes a national problem.

"As for us leaders in that area, it will be insane for anyone to think that the IPOB leader will ask us to follow him to seek secession.

"So Nigerians must learn to address it specifically. If you are addressing IPOB you should be specific and not to address it as if it is an Igbo affair." the governor said.

The Nigerian government has reacted to the killing of a Nigerian identified as Rasak Alao in South Africa. Recall that the Nigerian man, an auto mechanic, was on Thursday killed in South Africa after he was attacked alongside other Nigerians in Polokwane, Limpopo Province in South Africa. Reports indicated that the men were attacked following suspicions that they were into drug trafficking. Rasak Alao whose car was burnt lost his life in the attack which was carried out on him and five other Nigerians. In reaction, the Federal government issued a statement condemning the act and repeated attack on Nigerian nationals living in the country. A teenage father with a tattoo covering half his face saying DEVAST8 has cried out over his struggle to get a job. 19 year old Mark Cropp , who was recently released from prison, put a plea out on Facebook saying his facial tattoo was stopping him securing employment. He also said his tattoo which is not gang affiliated- wasn 't planned and was not supposed to be quite as big. He got it a number of months ago while in prison serving a two year and three month sentence in the Otago Correction Facility for aggravated robbery, the NZ Herald reports. Cropp said he was going through a ' rough patch' with people trying to bully him at the time and believed people were more cautious around those with tattoos in prison.
