Former governor of Anambra state Peter Obi says he would fight against the re-election of Governor Willie Obiano with everything in his power.

Obi said this during a stakeholders' meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held in Awka, Anambra.

He expressed disappointment at the manner in which his successor has managed the resources he left in the state.

He added that Obiano's government has destroyed all he laboured for with bad governance.

Obi said, "I will fight in this election aggressively. I will fight with the last drop of my blood. I will fight to win this election the way the PDP has not won any election before."

The former governor pledged to reconcile all aggrieved PDP members following the August 28 primary election of the party.

"I'm the beneficiary of the PDP confusion when I was governor on the platform of APGA. Today, I'm 100 percent in the PDP. That confusion must end. We must win the November 18 poll; nothing can stop us from doing that. It's a fight I must win for the PDP.

"I'll be in Anambra state all through from Wednesday, to accomplish this goal. In 2002/2003, I contested against an incumbent governor and defeated him; so there is nothing strange to me in defeating an incumbent governor.

"If all the money I kept for Obiano's government, both in dollar and naira were properly utilised and our legacies sustained, Anambra will be on top of other states in development by now." he said.

2 FULANI HERDSMEN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING 14 YEAR OLD TEEN

Two Fulani herdsmen, Umar and Musa Ali, who are brothers, have been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police Command for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl at Tudun Lambaga in the Eggon Hills area, Eggon Local Government Area of the state. The victim, simply identified as Esther, was reportedly ambushed and assaulted by the suspects at a secluded part of the road. According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Nassarawa, DSP Kennedy Idirisu, Umar and Musa had been apprehended following a complaint by Esther’s parents. French police officer fatally shot three people on a street near Paris before killing himself, according to reports. The incident was part of an apparent domestic dispute in which the officer's girlfriend, her mother and sister were injured, the BBC reported. Her father and two passers-by were killed in the shooting which happened in the town of Sarcelles late on Saturday. The mayor of Sarcelles, north of Paris, said the woman had recently told her partner that she was breaking up with him, according to the BBC. The officer first killed two people with his service weapon on the street, Le Monde newspaper said. An attempt by a mother of two children to smuggle a phone to her boyfriend in prison custody has been foiled by the officials of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The 33-year-old woman, Fatima Balogun who has been arrested by men of the Special Intelligence Unit of the NPS, carried out the action on Wednesday at the gate lodge of Abeokuta maximum Prisons in Ibara. In an alleged ecstasy to impress their paymaster, a team of police operatives, on Sunday, shot dead one Elvis Ovie and injured another, Onome Eko, during a party in Warri, Delta State.
