Former governor of Anambra state Peter Obi says he would fight against the re-election of Governor Willie Obiano with everything in his power.

Obi said this during a stakeholders' meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held in Awka, Anambra.

He expressed disappointment at the manner in which his successor has managed the resources he left in the state.

He added that Obiano's government has destroyed all he laboured for with bad governance.

Obi said, "I will fight in this election aggressively. I will fight with the last drop of my blood. I will fight to win this election the way the PDP has not won any election before."

The former governor pledged to reconcile all aggrieved PDP members following the August 28 primary election of the party.

"I'm the beneficiary of the PDP confusion when I was governor on the platform of APGA. Today, I'm 100 percent in the PDP. That confusion must end. We must win the November 18 poll; nothing can stop us from doing that. It's a fight I must win for the PDP.

"I'll be in Anambra state all through from Wednesday, to accomplish this goal. In 2002/2003, I contested against an incumbent governor and defeated him; so there is nothing strange to me in defeating an incumbent governor.

"If all the money I kept for Obiano's government, both in dollar and naira were properly utilised and our legacies sustained, Anambra will be on top of other states in development by now." he said.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Authorities are investigating an early morning homicide just off of Stateline Road. Initial reports indicated the 20-year-old victim was inside a car at the Ashland Lakes Apartments around 3 a.m. when he was shot. Two individuals rushed him to the Olive Branch Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver and passenger were detained for questioning by Olive Branch. Benue State Police Command has busted two kidnap syndicate of 8 including a Gang of 4 allegedly led by a woman believed to be an associate of the wanted militant leader, Terwase Agwaza, aka Gana, who a week ago abducted a businessman. The police operation also led to the arrest of three women whose responsibilities were to provide food for the victims, who was rescued alive. The businessman was kidnapped alongside his son, who was later released to source N20 million as ransom for his father.  The state's Police Commissioner, Bashir Makama, said: "During investigations, we discovered that the lady, who was arrested had the responsibility of pencilling down those to be kidnapped and those to be killed by the gang. They are all associates of Gana, the wanted militant leader. Also arrested, after reliable information, is one Victor Ayanngor, who conspired with Ordue Abraham, Kelvin Dankor and Emmanuel Terver to kidnap his girlfriend and collect N200,000 ransom."

We suffered casualties at Tula Udah Forest operations – Army MARCH 9TH,2017 The Army has confirmed that one soldier died, two missing and 13 others are wounded in an ongoing operations to rid remnants of terrorists from their hideouts in Borno and North east generally.
