The Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) Unit, ACP Abba Kyari, on Sunday alleged that billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme "Evans" Onwuamadike, offered his squad a bribe of N200m when he was captured.

Kyari, who led the operation to arrest the kidnapper, made this revelation while reacting to an allegation made by Olukoya Ogungbeje, lawyer to Evans that the police offficers extorted N50m from the kidnapping kingpin.

He made the disclosure while reacting to a discourse on the Facebook page of CKN News on the allegations made by Ogungbeje.

He said; "All lies from this criminal and hungry lawyer who is desperate to eat from Evans loot. Everything recovered from Evans have been registered as exhibit because it's bought from the ransom money he collected from innocent Nigerians he kidnapped and Court will eventually decide on all the houses and other properties recovered.

"We know what to do on all this lies he is talking, there are laws in this country. He thinks he can lie to ridicule the uncompromising team that arrested the most notorious kidnapper in Nigeria.

"Same team that refused to collect 200 million naira Evans offered the moment he was arrested pledging that he can make calls for 200m to be brought in 48hrs if he can be released without anybody knowing.

"Whether Evans and his lawyer likes it or not recovery of Evans loot will continue as the lawyer is not happy with very recent recoveries."

Embattled Nigerian artiste, Dammy krane, appeared in court today for his bail hearing in the 9-count fraud charges leveled against him in the U.S. He was in court with Chukwuebuka, his accomplice. The federal government has approved the closure of five foreign missions and embassies, minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama said. Onyeama told newsmen in Abuja on Thursday, May 25, 2017. The minister, who did not mention the embassies or missions, said the process for closure was underway and was also subject to the approval of the president.
