Married lesbian couple get pregnant at the same time and due to give birth to sons, 3 weeks apart


In what has been a "definitely surreal experience," Los Angeles couple Lindsay Lanciault, 34, and Toby Fleischman, 41, are pregnant at the same time. The couple have been married for three years.

The happy circumstance wasn't quite as intentional as it may seem. Initially, make-up-artist-to-the-stars, Toby, was planned to be the one to become pregnant, since she was older and therefore had a smaller window of fertility.

However, after around two years struggling to conceive, they decided that Lindsay, a speech-language pathologist, should try as well with the same donor. In early November, Fleischman learned she was pregnant. .

The next week, Lanciault was ovulating. Both women decided Lanciault should continue trying to get pregnant in case Fleischman had another miscarriage. A few weeks later, Lanciault had a positive pregnancy test, too.

"We both joked though, this WOULD be the time Lindsay gets pregnant," Fleischman said. "And that's exactly what happened. So yes, we were prepared for the positive result, but it was still a shock. We were of course so excited and we kind of just laughed ― this was the way the universe had it in store for us all along."

Both women chose to undergo artificial insemination at home using sperm from a "dear friend" who grew up with Lanciault. Fleischman said the first few moments after learning both tests came back positive were "definitely surreal to say the least."

Fleischman is due July 22, and Lanciault is due just shy of three weeks later on August 10. Both are having boys.

The State Security Service (SSS), on Saturday, announced the arrest of Husseini Maitangaran, a top commander of by Islamic State of West Africa (ISWA), otherwise known as Boko Haram. Policemen from the Ipakodo division have arrested a suspected killer of a family of three in Ibeshe Titun, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. German national dies after slumping at Lagos airport A German national, Mr Brenard Christo, who slumped  on Friday  at the General Aviation Terminal of the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, has died at an undisclosed hospital. The spokesman for the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the death of the German to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  on Saturday .
