EX-DISCIPLE OF REV KING JAILED FOR STEALING CHURCH PROPERTY

Ex-disciple of Rev. King jailed for stealing church property

Mr. David Jack, an ex-disciple of Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, King, has been arrested and charged before an Isolo Magistrates’ Court for breaking into the headquarters of King’s church and stealing some of its property.

The prosecutor, Oje Uwagbale, told the court that Jack, who was a strong member of the church but stopped after Rev. King was arrested and condemned to death for murder, gained access into the church in Ajao Estate, Lagos after Sunday service and secretly went to the music section to steal two mixers worth N850,000, belonging to the church.

Uwagbale added that Jack reportedly hid the stolen equipment inside a bag and was taking it outside the church premises when the security man became suspicious and demanded to search his bag. During the search, the mixer was discovered and he was immediately handed over to the police at Ajao Estate division, who charged him to court.

After presenting the facts before the court, Uwagbale asked the court to sentence him accordingly.

The 27 years pleaded guilty and also asked for leniency.

However, the Magistrate, Mr. A.O. Ogbe, found him guilty and sentenced him to three months imprisonment without an option of fine.
