DANGOTE TO ACQUIRE AMCON MAJORITY STAKE IN PEUGEOT AUTOMOBILE NIGERIA

was disclosed by the AMCON chief executive officer, Ahmed Kuru, in an interview with Reuters. that all processes on the bids were completed about two months ago.

Though he declined to mention the rest of the entities in the consortium, Kuru told Reuters that AMCON's stake is worth over N15 billion, according to its latest valuation.

It is, however, reported that the business mogul and Africa's richest man is leading a consortium involving the Kaduna and Kebbi state governments and the Bank of Industry (BoI).

Dangote made the bid to acquire the 79.3 percent AMCON stakes in PAN after the agency launched an auction in January 2016.

PAN was a joint venture between the federal government and Peugeot Citroen which was founded iufacture of 90,000

Governor  Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has appealed to members of the state university's academic staff union to call off their strike.(Which would be a big mistake if they comply) Bello, who visited the University at Ayingba on Tuesday, pledged to pay all the salary arrears of lecturers and non-academic staff of the institution this month. Nigerian security forces say they have foiled a plot by ISIS-linked Boko Haram militants to bomb the British High Commission and US Embassy in the capital Abuja. The Department of State Services announced that it had arrested five suspects who were planning attacks. A DSS official said a suspected Boko Haram member who was arrested on March 22, in north-eastern Yobe state, confessed details of the plot. Victor Choji, the Executive Officer of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder, Port Harcourt, said this during the destruction of one of the illegal refineries on Thursday. He said all the refineries were discovered in Asari Toru Local Government area of Rivers, with 40 huge metallic storage tanks . The News Agency of Nigeria reports that some of the storage tanks were filled with petroleum products suspected to be diesel and crude oil. Choji noted that the discovery was in continuation of the current mop-up of illegal refineries and illicit bunkering of petroleum products by crude oil thieves.
