FEMALE SCAMMER NABBED AFTER N7M SCAM GOES WRONG

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested a suspected female fraudster, identified as Gladys who ran out of luck over the weekend after a complaint was filed against her by one Nkiruka Okon whom she defrauded of N7 million.
According to SUN, Police investigation reveals that the suspect also used a network platform to swindle unsuspecting victims, including a Lagos society woman who was duped of mammoth sums.
During interrogation, the suspect said:
According to the victim, Okon, she decided to go into partnership with her after which she got duped.
Okon said:
The police are still investigating the matter ahead of possible prosecution. "I met Okon, a banker who reported me to the police in Port Harcourt, in 2008. I did not mean evil. We were just friends then. Later in 2015, I marketed a product, Healthy Halogen Oven, to her. The product was imported into Nigeria by a network marketing company, Avenues to Wealth,"
"As a network marketer and a partner to the company, my duty was to bring potential customers and partners into the business for a win-win profit-making, both for the customer and myself.
"I told Okon about the Healthy Oven, which was one of the products of Avenues to Wealth sold for N12,000 at company price. We agreed to partner in buying a large quantity of the product; Okon put together the financial capital, while I did the marketing and transportation of the product to the customers. Along the line, things did not work out well. It was not my intention to swindle her."
"I got interested in the healthy oven marketing business and decided to go into partnership with Gladys, whom I had known for many years while I was in Port-Harcourt," she said.
"We agreed to buy about 410 units of the oven from the company, where one sells for N12,000 and agreed to sell at the rate of N20,000. I made a deposit of N4,500,000 to Gladys' account on the agreement that after the sale I would get back N7.5 million plus the profit, but she refused to stick to the agreement in our memorandum of understanding.
"When I called her, she refused to pick my calls and absconded for over one year. Then I realised I had been duped by the person I thought was my business partner. All efforts to persuade Gladys to pay my money proved abortive, as she continued to give me one excuse or another."

Commissioner of Police Olafimihan Adeoye, who paraded the suspects, said they were arrested on October 6, 2017, following a tip-off and investigations. 97 Nigerians deported from South Africa February 28 2017 About 97 Nigerians have been deported from South Africa for alleged civil and criminal offences. The deportees – 95 males and two females – arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport from Johannesburg on Monday night. Those accused of criminal offences were handed over to the police for prosecution, while those accused of committing civil offences were allowed to go home. This is coming a few days after a South African mob attacked Nigerians and their businesses in the country. A pastor and his wife have been brutally murdered right inside their home as their little daughter watched on quite helplessly. Proud Kanyungwe, a Zimbabwean pastor and his wife, Belinda Tarisai Mukucha have been killed. The pair were shot and killed by two armed robbers in South Africa while their two daughters, one of them aged three years, watched helplessly. According to The Chronicle, the armed robbers went away with two cellphones and a laptop. Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Captain Kholeka Mhlongo confirmed the incident, which occurred on Thursday shortly after 2AM at the couple's rented home in Scottsville Extension in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal province. Capt Kholeka Mhlongo said the suspects used a concrete brick to break the front door to gain entry into the house.
