MAN LOSES WRIST IN BURUTU CULT CLASH

BOMADI—THE right hand of a suspected cult member was, yesterday, chopped off, following a clash between two rival cult gangs at Tuomo community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Meanwhile, five members of the gangs were arrested during a raid on their hideouts by security operatives from the State Vigilante Group, the Bomadi Police Division and military personnel attached to the 222 Battalion, Bomadi.

Though the state's Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, could not be reached for details, an operative of the vigilante group said the clash occurred in the early hours of yesterday.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, gave the names of the rival gangs as Vikings and Green Landers.

FORMER BBC STUDIO CORDONED OFF AFTER MAN'S BODY WAS DISCOVERED

A man’s body has been discovered on the former BBC studios site in Manchester city centre. The body was found this morning at the building site on Oxford Road, which is currently being transformed into student flats. Greater Manchester Police have been called to the scene and the area has been taped off. Forensics officers have also been seen combing the area. Police are working to establish the circumstances behind the man’s death. The victim is believed to have been discovered by building site staff on Monday morning. It is thought he gained access to the building site over the weekend. A statement from GMP said: “Shortly before 7:50am on Monday, May 8, 2017, police were called to reports that a body had been found on Oxford Road in Manchester city centre. “Enquiries are on-going to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.” It is understood building staff working on the site have been told to stop working until further notice. A prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C & S) Church in Lagos, Mr. Alimi Isaiah, 55, has been arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly being in possession of human skull and a horn. The IPOB leader had met with the governors at the Enugu State Government House on August 30, 2017 said his decision was informed by the prevailing situation in the South East. POLICEMAN MURDERED,RIFFLE STOLEN BY HOODLUMS

Barely one week after a policeman lost his service rifle to unknown gunmen, another policeman has been attacked and killed by unidentified hoodlums in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. The unnamed policeman was reportedly killed in a beer parlour in the state capital. It was learnt that the hoodlums stole a police AK47 rifle after murdering the policeman at one of the relaxation spots on Hospital Road area. Christian Nwosu An ex - Administrative Secretary with the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Christian Nwosu , on Thursday alleged that he was cajoled into confessing to taking a bribe of N 30m to compromise the 2015 general elections.
