The Rivers State Police Command has nabbed a suspected cultist, who allegedly used a kidnap victim's intestines to prepare pepper soup.

The Command also disclosed that two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the ritual killing of the eight-year-old girl, Miss Chikamso Mezuwuba, by a suspected ritualist, Ifeanyichikwu Dike.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Ahmed Zaki, said this, yesterday in Port Harcourt while parading 23 suspected armed robbers, cultists and kidnappers, arrested by the tactical unit of the command.

Zaki noted that the arrested cultists had kidnapped one Pastor Samuel Okpara of Edoha community, Ahoada East Local Government Area, killed, beheaded the victim and was cooking his intestines before they were caught.

Zaki said: "Similarly, the Command in continuation of her onslaught against kidnapping arrested one Roland Peterside, a member of a notorious gang that kidnapped Pastor Samuel Okpara from Edoha, Ahoada East LGA on 15 August.

"They kidnapped, killed and beheaded the victim and used his liver and intestine for pepper-soup and plantain portage.

"They were arrested while preparing their meal. The suspect is alleged to be in possession of the gang's rifles, led by one Justus, popularly known as High-Tension from Abarikpo in Ahoada East LGA."

But, when interviewed by Vanguard, the suspect, Peterside, denied the crime and claimed that he is a pastor and a generator mechanic.

The CP, however, disclosed that two suspects have been arrested after the escape of the suspected murderer of the minor in Rivers State from the police custody.

Zaki, who declined giving names of the arrested two suspects, said investigations are still on top gears to arrest other accomplice and to re-arrest the prime suspect, Dike.

He further noted that the command has set aside N1 million to any person or group of persons who provide(s) the police with useful information that will lead to the re-arrest of Dike.

Meanwhile, it was the end of the road for a high profiled cultist, (names withheld) as he was arrested at the weekend by the Special Anti Cultism Squad, SPACS, of the Anambra State Police Command.

The suspect was apprehended by SPACS with a locally made pistol at Nawfia community in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state

According to the source, other items recovered from him on a tip-off included three live cartridges, one sword, and a machete.

Upon interrogation, suspected cultist said the items recovered from him "were part of the handover note when I took over as the executioner.

"But because my successor refused to pay me N20,000 to collect the items, I kept them in my house and embarked on the International drug trafficking trip because I paid N20,000 to my predecessor to collect the items that included the gun."

In a related development, the SPACS have arrested a cult member, Makuachukwu Madueke, at Ogboji Aguata Local Government Area, with a locally-made double-barrelled gun.

He hinted that he picked it from the compound of the person he went to do some work in his house as a mason and denied using it for cultism.

Furthermore, Operatives of SARS in a covert operation arrested Belema Oriasi 'm', Michael Eboh 'm' and Godspower Isreal 'm' who are said to be the gang operating along Ada George Road. Also the Special Anti Robbery Squad arrested Rabiu Mohammed 'm', Smart Moses 'm', Tony Victory 'm', Patrick Job 'm', Ndubuisi Odoagi 'm', Uchenna Okoro 'm', Answer Eze 'm', Friday Ichendu 'm', Anthony Horfall 'm', they are said to be the criminal gang operating along the East West Road.

They are helping the Police and will be charged to Court as soon as Investigation is concluded.
